Me and my partner have been together nearly a year, he only met my 6 year old 4 months ago & he is fantastic with her, helps me out with childcare when I’m at work & I just couldn’t wish for a better role model for her. She has her dad in her life but my question is, do I get my partner a gift for father day from my daughter?
This is the first relationship I’ve had since me and her dad split up 5 years ago so I’m all new to this, does anyone else do this with their children & partners?

thank you 😊

No, totally inappropriate after such a short time.
If you are still together in a year's time and they have a good relationship then maybe you could get him a little gift to show your appreciation of everything he does for her or get her to draw him a picture but even then it should be her idea and not something engineered by you.
I used to feel a bit wierd getting Mothers Day cards from my DSC, especially the year my own kids forgot.

Absolutely not.

No, thats a bit weird, my son has decided that his year he would like to get his step dad something, no prompts from me, his own decision. It isn’t something I would suggest to him, as it should be something he wants to do.

If you want him to run a mile then go for it.
