There might be a moment of gratitude shown by my step children and yours too! 💗

My sd has been in my life 10 years, since she was 3. I've always had a card and gift from her and this year was no different. I have a daughter the same age as sd and we all celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday. She has never been made to give me a card or gift

Nothing from the step kids but I did get a Happy Mother’s Day message from their mum which was a bit random Confused

Never any acknowledgement from my DSC but matters not, my own children are more than enough!

DSS bought me a card and chocs completely unbeknown to me and DH with his allowance. He's a sweetheart and I the sentiment inside the card thanked me for everything I do even though I'm not his mum.

DSD hasn't spoken to me for months because I dared to express an opinion that backed up her dad even though I've been on the scene for 8 years and would suggest that I totally pull my weight as a step mum. She now wants her Dad to forget he ever met me. 50:50 ain't bad

I went over and above for both SC for the best part of a decade before the penny finally dropped. Never any gratitude shown by either of them. Both are spoilt, entitled and self centred. I’ve now detached.

Saying that, I never expected anything from them for Mother’s Day - that day was not about me. Some gratitude, or a simple “Thank you” once in a while would have been enough.
