How joint are your finances?

I understand having DC that aren't joint can make finances that little bit more difficult.

I was just wondering what others do in terms of finances if you live together? Are they completely separate / completely joint or somewhere in the middle?

Haircuts, clothes, nicer shower gel and books mostly.

Dh and I have 5 between us but none together. He works and I don’t so he pays for everything including my two teens. We have a joint account and he also has a separate sole account.

Around the world - lovely man you have. So often on here, the SM does not want to contribute towards the DSCs, yets yours does it wihtout discussion. Total respect.

We have a joint account and both put in the same amount for all household expenses - we use the same account for meals out with his and my DCS. I have more disposable income than him at the end as I earn more - but my wok related expenses are much higher.

Never found the need to quibble over this and that.

It works for us and what ever works for is right.
