Partners ex is moving away with the kids

My partners ex wife is planning in moving away with the kids. To put you in the pic, we have been together 3 years, we have the kids every weekend without fail and extra over holidays. The little ones just started school 3 weeks ago. Since we've been together she's had 6 different partners each introduced to the children within days of being together(each to their own but the kids get confused and I personally couldn't have done that to my children I was a single parent 11 years and my partner is the only bf my daughters ever met)

Anyways, she has been with her current partner a few months and has now out of the blue decided she is going to uproot the kids from everyone and everything they know 2 hours away from everyone (I realise that doesn't sound all that far but in the grand scheme of things it is)

My partners so upset (much as he is trying to hide it) I just don't know where he stands on this. The more negative he is about it to his ex the more she will feel it's a great idea. I'm not looking to be beaten down on this I'm just looking for advice.

The kids and our family are our whole world.

Could dh go to court and get a prohibited steps order preventing her from moving the children away? Would he be able to have them live with him if she decides to go on her own?

He needs to see a solicitor, its not fair on the children to take them away from everything they know for such a short relationship.

When is she planning to make the move? If she's had quite a few different partners over the years is there a chance the relationship will end before it happens?

I think the thing is to remain calm with her, not get confrontational as you know it will wind her up and make her even less likely to take anything you say on board.

Would it be an option to have the kids live with you and she becomes NRP? Would she be at all likely to consider this, if it was broached in the right way?
