How many of you were a step mom before you became a mom? How did life change? Do you think your partner is closer to your biokids than your stepkids? Or does he give all his attention to the stepkids when are present? How is the relationship different?

My dsc moan long and loud about the every day things we have to do while they're here. Especially things like groceries. We get things done as quickly as possible but they then complain to their mum who sends us a barrage of abuse.

We both work full time, the weekends are the only time we generally have for practical stuff. That's life. I resent very much that we're expected to only eat into our time with my dc and never with dsc.

My DH is different to our 2 youngest as he has spent more time being a parent full time to them than he has his older children. It isn't that he loves them more its just he has to be a real dad to my two where he is a friend and "the fun one" to his older children. It works for them and the step kids have good relationships with their siblings and us.
