i just wanted to say that dp and i have been together for four months now. our first date we took the kids with us, which sounds odd but felt completely normal to both of us Smile i have stayed over several times at dp's house - when his ds was here and when he wasn't and my dd has also stayed with us when his ds was here and when he wasn't (sounds occmplicated but it isn't - just abit squashed in a 2bed!)
my point is that we all get on very well, which i am eternally glad and grateful for.

ds said something to his dad in the week, completely naturally so i'm not sure if his dad noticed or not - ds said something about 'the four of us' and i was so happy that he includes me and my dd as part of his 'group' (i'm not sure about saying his family from ds' pov yet) but i have seen him and his dad (my dp) as family for ages and it seemed so lovely i can't stop smiling about it when i think of what dp's ds said SmileSmileSmile

thank you Smile
i have always, or nearly always said to his dad when i've been speaking to dp on the phone to say hi to his ds for me. this morning, dp's ds said to say hi to me as well - without me saying hi to him first SmileSmile

It makes you feel so nice and warm inside when the do or say something. I still do when DBD flys down the drive gives me a jump hug and says 'I've really missed you SMS' or when she's busy playing in another room, comes to find me, gives me a hug and says 'I love you' Grin

and now we've had a lovely weekend while dp has been at work; he's asked for my help with his homework rather than struggling and asking his dad when he got home xx

That's lovely. It's very rewarding at times. I got a warm fuzzy today when eldest dsd asked me to sign her planner! It really is the little things.

Fontsnob · 23/01/2011 19:14

Her planner as in her school homework diary. Just in case that made no sense!

Aww. That's great. I've had a lovely weekend too. It was my dss's 5th birthday party yesterday. I took it upon myself to arrange the party. 32 kids came from school and most of their parents. After months of feeling shunned by most the parents at school, I finally feel accepted as a mother and not just some woman. I think the worst thing though was that I put so much pressure on myself to make the party perfect so i'd be accepted and to prove to everyone including myself I could do it. Well the party was a great success and I'm exhausted but smiling.

We need more happy stories on here.
