So, after 9 'not so normal' years - its finally here, the night before the day we say 'auf Wiedersehen' to the man who has brought joy to so many, who gets LFC in his bones and will be missed.

I'm 100% certain, I'll be sobbing at some point tomorrow afternoon - if anyone else who is "so glad, Jürgen is a red' wants to join me - please do. Share your favourite Jürgen moments (there will be Jürgen dancing videos shared by me!)

Expecting an electric atmosphere tomorrow ( who cares about the title ) One last time!

I have been avoiding most of the LFC stuff on social media, YouTube, LFCTV etc because I know it will make me blub. I'm old enough to remember feeling like I had taken a punch to the solar plexus when Kenny announced his resignation in February 1991. Jürgen's announcement in January hit me in the same way.

He is a giant and we will miss the man even more than the manager, if that makes sense. That's what makes him so different. I know the lucky fans at Anfield tomorrow will give him the tribute and send off he deserves.

Favourite Jürgen moments - gawd, there are too many to choose from! The one that makes me laugh most is when he was complimenting a male translator on having a sexy voice and so asked him to repeat what he said, before breaking out into that booming laugh! My favourite emotional moment might be when he grabbed a tearful Ali in one of his trademark bearhugs after the West Brom match. I will also never forget when in his leaving announcement video he name checked the young fan he had recently met (Daire Gorman) - that was such class and just epitomised what he is all about.

(I suspect for Klopp detractors, their favourite moment will be the infamous hamstring pull - well, what I liked about that was that he admitted straight afterwards, with his characteristic honesty, that he probably deserved it! 😄)

I think those who don't get Jurgen, don't quite get Liverpool itself.

It's not just his footballing success (but thanks very much for that) it's his persona. He embodies Liverpool. He's funny, honest and isn't afraid to show emotion.
Jose Morininho thought he was/should be charismatic, Klopp just is.

My favourite moment out of so many? If we're talking football, it's beating Barcelona 4:0 after to loosing 3:0 to them in Spain.

Just Jurgen moments? His first press conference as LFC manager. It was then I realised he just might be something special.

Thank You so very much Jurgen, you'll hold the same place in my heart that the sainted Bill did. A very special place indeed.

It's absolutely unbearable, I am so, so sad, Jurgen & his team have honestly brightened the last 9 years of my life, somebody who is always there to make you smile.

My favourite moment was at Wembley in the FA cup semi final beating City 3-0 at half time, the atmosphere was incredible and it was when 'I'm so glad' really took off.

Thanks for everything Jurgen, You'll Never Walk Alone.

Brefugee · 18/05/2024 20:48

It will be a sad day for Liverpool fans for sure. I remember when he left Dortmund, it was the same over here.

myrtleWilson · 18/05/2024 20:59

Ah @Brefugee - that must have been tough..

I agree that replacing Jurgen as the manager is one thing, replacing him as someone who was just the most perfect fit wth the team, the fans, and the city (including Everton in the last bit) is something else. Its been a pleasure, it really has.

@FrenchBean7 - thank you for sharing that - it was such a weird year wasn't it. Other clubs fan bases demanding to void the year and then winning in an empty stadium but I loved that insight into the lfc bubble (as an aside - I loved LFC's social media during covid - the yoga check in's were hilarious!)

Going to be very emotional, my DH is a long time Liverpool fan and I have become a fan since meeting him. Have arranged a lovely Afternoon Tea for us to enjoy as we watch all the build up,the match etc. He will be cracking open a can of Nitrosurge Guiness and raising a glass to Jurgen. Think I will need a box of tissues to hand, for us both.

BeaRF75 · 18/05/2024 21:33

I am not a football fan, but it's making me emotional too!
He has done so much for the city - he really "gets" Liverpool. When he visits Alder Hey hospital every Xmas, they absolutely love him - he's great with the kids.

AndNobbyDancing · 18/05/2024 21:34

Not a Liverpool supporter, but love football.

I have nothing but respect for Klopp and can recognise the pain of a fan who loves their club.

Football is bigger than a game, a league, a season, Liverpool is more than a manager. But still I feel your tears.

well, i don't even like Dortmund, but i can get how the emotions must have been

TitusMoan · 18/05/2024 22:08

Jurgen is quite simply a great human being ❤️

YNWA ❤️❤️❤️❤️

feathermucker · 18/05/2024 22:13

I shall miss him.

He made us believe again.

What a man.

Liverpool vs Dortmund 2015-16 Europa League QF Second leg

“Corner taken quickly” (and when he commented on the rash of new babies for the team nine months later)

His comments during the pandemic.

Just the open energy and decency he brought to the touchline.

My daughter shared a tweet with me. She was talking with another lfc supporter who said that whoever was in the dugout next season, the other supporter would have that feeling that many children have "you're not my Dad, you cannot tell me what to do"

despite being over 15 years Jurgens senior, I totally got that feeling. I remember at the beginning of his tenure, fans started leaving one game early, we were losing. Klopp said he'd never felt so.alone.

I told my daughter she must never ever leave a game early. She had a season ticket in the kop. She never did after this.

I have no idea what makes him so very charismatic. He just is

I remember that. I thought him saying that was just the perfect way to really speak to people and galvanise them.

He understand team spirit and camaraderie like no-one else.

burblish · 18/05/2024 22:42

@myrtleWilson You've reminded me afresh of how much I, too, adored LFC's social media posts during lockdown. The yoga sessions were hilarious - Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain singing "Happy Birthday" in Croatian and Wolof was, as Jürgen might say, outstanding! 😄

MustDust · 18/05/2024 22:48

Really going to miss him, besides being an incredible manager and all round bloody lovely bloke, his persona is just so joyous. There's so many times he's cracked me up over the years, the champions league bus when he was merrily counting on his fingers being one, and more recently 'brain fuck' being another. Sad day tomorrow.

burblish · 18/05/2024 22:51

@MustDust - how about "Let's Talk About Six, Baby!" And who could ever forget "Aaaaadrian!" or "BOOM!"

myrtleWilson · 19/05/2024 07:53

Aww, Klopp's insta showing all the boxes in his office packed up.

Am glad the fixtures gods gave us a final home fixture!

Same here, and I can't even watch some of these tributes that are going up on socials!

Brefugee · 19/05/2024 18:37

gosh. It is ages since the final whistle, stadium still full - that says a lot. Lovely gesture with the mini versions of the cups.

What a send off!

burblish · 19/05/2024 18:45

Oh gosh, seeing Trent crying has just set me off again 😭

BearFacedCheek · 19/05/2024 18:58

The only thing I’m grateful for amongst his leaving is the Kloppo insta.
Seeing Virge emotional set me off.
What an afternoon, what a man. ❤️
