NC change for privacy
Do trans woman athletes truly think its fair to compete against bio females? Do they really think they have NO advantage.
Lia Thomas (trans female swimmer in USA college) said:
"Everybody is able to compete in the category they are most comfortable with unless there is a proven unfair advantage that they have. This does a very good job of including trans woman and not invading anyones privacy or making anyone feel uncomfortable. And I think those guidelines"
She also said to her that the rules felt "very fair to me and was not too invasive". This is after she was accused of staring at girls changing in the locker rooms and walking around fully nude with her penis out. Am I being crazy or does this sound delusional? She went from number 400 in the mens to number 1 in the womans category and she thinks she has NO advantage!!??
In response to complaints from her teammates who said they supported her being trans but not competing, she said this:
"If you support trans woman as woman and they’ve met all the NCA requirements then I don’t know if you can say something like that. Trans women are NOT a threat to womens sports"
In my opinion it is a threat! My daughter competes in track and is normally first (county level at school) but has recently been beaten by a trans female athlete multiple times. And the girls coach said there isn't an advantage as its allowed!
Is anything ever going to be safe for woman again if anyone can become a female (such as safe spaces from rape etc.)? And as someone who has been SA, I get very worried about this and the wether my DD may come across bio males in her changing rooms.
So Lia was happy to compete in the womans meet and obliterate woman but when she was in the middle of transitioning she didn't compete in the mens category as "being a woman competing in a men’s meet. It was uncomfortable so I didn’t compete that much.". Did she not understand that bio females might have felt the same way about her in the meet and LOCKER room. And this time it wasn't just one but around 40 girls!
And for her to said that she didn't transition just to compete but then also take a year off of school to ensure that she was allowed to compete a year in swimming as a female (incase of COVID disruptions stopping her) to me screams that there might have been underlying motives.
Am I reasonable to be annoyed (not at the child but at the school coach) for this being allowed in school sports?
But then also in the wider world across all sports and potentially in the future safe spaces. Can trans people not be trans people without accessing the few spaces that are meant to protect bio females and make them feel safe from bio men? Why can't they access everything but these?
Also before anyone reports the thread, I have nothing against trans people, just trans people in sports (which MANY trans people would agree with!).
Also sorry for the length! Just had a lot too unpack.
