Pan - not who I was expecting!

DramaAlpaca · 24/09/2014 18:58

Not who I was expecting, either!

Anyone know if and when there will be highlights on the TV? I can't find any coverage anywhere.

PansOtherPeople · 24/09/2014 18:59

No I had a quick shuftie and no Highlights Anywhere! Prob on Youtube later?

DramaAlpaca · 24/09/2014 19:05

They might show the highlights at the weekend during the Road Race coverage. I was disappointed it wasn't shown live - at least I don't think it was, couldn't find it, anyway. Youtube it will have to be, I suppose.

DoctorTwo · 24/09/2014 19:11

It was on the BBC red button and I only found out by channel hopping, so I just caught the medal ceremony. Imagine my surprise when I saw who was on the top step. :o Bike

DramaAlpaca · 24/09/2014 19:14

Ah, thanks Doctor. I couldn't have watched it anyway as I was at work, and of course you can't record progs on the red button.

PansOtherPeople · 24/09/2014 19:18

Chhers Doc! i-player? #desperate Bike

PansOtherPeople · 24/09/2014 19:19

Chhers????

PansOtherPeople · 24/09/2014 19:30

Whilst the Spanish tarmac was being ripped up, I was learning far more than I'll ever need to know about Civil Service Procurement Procedures. Death by power point.Grin

def NOT Bike

here is a BBC brief item if you haven't seen it?

DramaAlpaca · 24/09/2014 19:51

Result! It's on the BBC iPlayer Bike

PansOtherPeople · 24/09/2014 19:56

WOW!!

PansOtherPeople · 24/09/2014 20:07

and lots of the wonderful off-the-cuff-stuff

DramaAlpaca · 24/09/2014 20:24

So I connected to my trusty Hola proxy server to convince the iPlayer that I'm in the UK thanks to my teenagers who know how to do that sort of stuff and watched the decisive last few minutes. Good stuff Bike

PansOtherPeople · 24/09/2014 20:29

ah, a long-standing friend of mine lives in Vancouver and was over in summer, and we were chatting about what she misses about UK - she's a UKerphile. She said she doesn't miss the BBC, as she has convinced them by way of satellite trickery that she lives in the UK. Neat.

DramaAlpaca · 24/09/2014 20:47

Yup. The teens have set me up so that I can watch UK programmes using Hola, and US programmes using ExpatShield. They are useful lads Grin

PansOtherPeople · 24/09/2014 20:50

The gifts of children, that just keep on giving.Grin

EndoplasmicReticulum · 24/09/2014 23:35

Some interviews here:

www.steephill.tv/road-cycling-world-championships/

Winner's interview - Bradley Wiggins talking about the hour thing. And Tony Martin was a bit disappointed, he obviously thought he was going to win it.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 26/09/2014 07:09

Tour de Yorkshire announced for May 1-3 next year! Yay! They are announcing routes early next year and hope to go to bits that got missed in Tdf. Scarborough/ Whitby maybe?

PansOtherPeople · 26/09/2014 08:29

I know! Is the timing to come between the classics and the Giro? As a sort of Giro warmeruper? In any event, doesn't Yorks deserve it after the greatest of all Grand Departs?Bike

DramaAlpaca · 26/09/2014 21:11

That's great to hear. Nice to see the TdeF grand départ having a lasting effect Bike

PansOtherPeople · 28/09/2014 09:13

They've started already on the Worlds! Bike

PansOtherPeople · 28/09/2014 10:46

And it's chucking it down again for the Worlds - they really should stage the Worlds in sunny Yorkshire.Bike

PansOtherPeople · 28/09/2014 14:57

Soggy business end of the race - Brits still in it. Unusually. GrinBike

PansOtherPeople · 28/09/2014 15:31

Kwiatkowski takes the Rainbow for Poland! Swifty in about 12th.Bike

EndoplasmicReticulum · 28/09/2014 22:02
