What swimming safety wear should I use for my 19 month old?

I'm hoping to go swimming regularly this summer with my toddler n going abroad. What is the best thing to buy her armbands, a rubber ring or a foam safety jacket I'm not sure what would be most comfortable for her whilst also bing safe in the water?

My 18 month old daughter hates her rubber rino (the kind with the seat in), doesn't mind armbands but can't move her arms much in in the smallest size ones. We've been mostly using a Speedo float jacket but I saw loads of little ones using Swim Fins when were on holiday and have been seriously considering getting one as they look fab.

We used Delphin Swim Discs, which are available from various websites for around £20. There are 3 rigid floatey discs that go on each arm. As the child gains strength and confidence you go down to 2 discs, then one. Both my girls swam independently at age 2, due in part I am sure to these things.

He may not be able to go down slides, etc, in one of the fins. The foam jackets are more streamlined, plus you can zip them up back to front to make sure dn can't take hers off without you noticing ...

I think you need to put this in a parenting topic, maybe? not much traffic here ...

My 19 mo is most happy in the swim discs. He refuses inflatable arm bands. Never tried the float jacket.

we used arm bands and then those long foam noodle/woggle things

Use a swim vest if you are not in the water with her. If you are, you won't need anything as you will be holding her and encouraging her to kick. Hold her round her rib cage with her facing you, get to her eye level in the water and walk backwards. The flow of water will keep her legs up behind her and you can blow bubbles, sing songs etc. make sure she enjoys it, take a bath toy with you, and don't let her get cold, and she'll make progress with swimming (I'm a swim teacher and I teach from 6 months up)

I had one of these m.ebay.co.uk/itm/251603955951?nav=SEARCH which got used for all of mine, and thought it was brilliant. Have hardly seen one since though.
