Can you identify this rash?

I'm waiting on a second opinion from another GP but am interested in what the good people in sporner corner think. Had this itchy rash on my back for a week, no pain or temperature. Took a covid test which was negative. Saw a GP on Tuesday and she prescribed me steroid cream. Wednesday and Thursday I was sick (could only keep water down) and extremely tired, fell asleep in front of my laptop and couldn't work! Rash of smaller spots now round on my stomach to my belly button. Took another covid test which was negative again. No temperature, cough etc.

Sorry for the essay but the itchiness is driving me mad and antihistamines aren't doing anything! I haven't changed my detergent, soap or been abroad. Any ideas?

Can you identify this rash?

Forgot to mention that the GP didn't think it's bites which is what I assumed it was

shingles

I’m surprised you saw a GP for that.

it just looks like some sort of bite. There are lots of insects that bite in the UK. I’m a keen gardener and am often bitten. or possibly a sting from a plant.

I’d imagine it will go away on its own.

If all the spots are on the same side of your body, I'd suspect shingles.

I'm not an outdoors person at all 😂 so it freaked me out cos it's on my back and I can't see it properly and I've never had a rash before. Or been bitten or even had eczema!

Thanks, I'll look into shingles

I think it's scabies as you say the itching is driving you mad. Is it worse during the night?
