Milia?

I have one in the on an eyelid. I can feel it if I rub my eye, it isn’t interfering in any way but I hate it. It’s right near the crease over the eyeball so I’m reluctant to attempt to remove it myself. Do I need to just tolerate it (it’s been there at least a year) or can I get it removed? If so, by whom? TIA.

I removed one under my eye quite successfully. I sterilised a needle and very gently ran it over the top of the milia. Then I gave it a very gentle prod with a a damp cotton bud and it popped out! Like a tiny pearl 😂

See, I’d love to do this but it’s over the eyeball and I’m worried I’d slice into the eyelid/poke my eyeball! I could pull the eyelid up so I wouldn’t be able to poke my eye. I know it would come out like yours, a beautiful pearl! I’ve done flat ones on my face, just put a hole in the surface and they either fell out or I managed to scrape them out. This would make a great pic if I popped it out. it’s obvious and very superficial.

Probably not advisable, but I wouldn't be able to resist having a poke at it.

I had quite a big one on my upper eyelid once. I attacked it with tweezers by grabbing the bottom of it and twisted and squeezed at the same time. It was glorious. It looked like a grain of rice flattened on one side. Part of me wishes I could brew another one.

I once bought a box of diabetic lancets and I use them for just this purpose. They are tiny sterile* needles not more than a few mm long, attached to a little plastic handle thing. I poke a hole in the side of the milia and then use clean fingers or one of those extraction tools with the wire loop thing to ease it out. Before I start I wash the area well and wipe it with alcohol and keep it extra clean for a day or two afterwards. Some milia out more easily than others and occasionally I have to leave it so I don’t mutilate myself but if I try again a few weeks later it usually works. My dermatologist would be horrified but I’ve been doing it for over a decade with no problems. I think this one box of lancets will last me the rest of my life.
