I mean ewwww —- it’s got fingers!! I saw a podiatrist who insisted it is…. And told me I should only file it and not use any salicylic acid (and wouldn’t do any further treatment even though it’s huge and so painful) … I ignored her and continued with salicylic but it’s Not working 😬😬😬😬😬

I’ve tried garlic… apple cider vinegar … taping (which makes the white ring around it appear) and even squirted loads of aciclovir in it (you know - anti viral) as well as pulling chunks out of it

HELP! It’s sooooo painful

It certainly looks like it.

see your GP, they used to arrange to have them frozen off, although I think you might have to pay for that now.

How does your podiatrist expect it to go if it’s not treated?! She sounds useless.

There are lots of threads about getting rid of stubborn veruccas so have s read through them. You will need to be consistent on treatment.

Get Bazooka (but the stronger version). My daughter had a really stubborn one and nothing else worked on it

parkingsadness · 13/10/2023 23:59

Looks just like the one my son had/ has. Podiatrist shaved the top layer off with a razor blade then froze it. We were then told to leave it for a couple of days and then apply a liquid he got on prescription- it's a combination of lactic and salicylic acids. File down every night before applying.
It's a month after the freezing and suddenly he was filing last night and the big black root thingy (which was becoming really visible) just pulled out.
A moment of great triumph, marred only by the fact he 1) didn't record it and 2) was so startled he dropped it somewhere in his carpet and then had to vacuum.

Think your podiatrist sounds a bit crap.

Mumoftwotoddlers · 13/10/2023 23:59

Looks like one.
I can't remember the name but there's this freeze spray stuff I used to use, it's pretty much just a spray can and it supposedly freezes the verucca and it falls out after a while. I had varying success with it, sometimes it would work other times not

I had an incredibly stubborn one for a year. Was SO painful. Was taking paracetamol to go for a run. The GP froze it twice and nothing happened. He the. Cut it out but must have left a tiny bit in as it grew back.

what worked was me getting the double strength bazooka and religiously applying it, then 24 hours later soaking the foot in warm water to soften it and filing it, digging at it and then recovering with bazooka double strength. After this daily routine it was gone within 2 weeks - managed to dig the whole buggar out.

Op find a different podiatrist who "dry needle" it. They push it a little deeper into the skin, promote an immunity reaction.

Tons of bazuca, freeze kits, duct tape, etc etc over about 17 or 18 years dry needed and it went

cocksstrideintheevening · 14/10/2023 00:29

Yes it is. I had one for years, did everything possible, finally came out on holiday in a shingle beach.

GPS won't freeze them anymore unless they're painful / restrictive.

icantchangetime · 14/10/2023 00:30

It is a verruca as it looks like cauliflower

I'd get it lasered. Worth it to have it gone. Three zaps maximum would do it

Nsky62 · 14/10/2023 00:32

I had one, covered in. Clear nail varnish, remover reapplied did the trick after about 2 weeks

Ewwwewwwewww · 16/10/2023 17:08

this Is something I haven’t tried yet and would be happy to give it a go. read some other threads as recommended and saw this had worked for a few people

fresh nail varnish everyday? Soak the bastard first? Remove the old polish first with nail varnish remover?

Get the over the counter freezing spray - you can’t get freezing done via the go any more but this stuff really works

RaceToTheMiddle · 16/10/2023 23:08

The freezing does work. I will add I am NOT a dr 🤣 but I completely had to go OTT with the amount of time the instructions said to keep the frozen tip bit on the verruca. I just kept it on as long as I could, then re-freeze and repeat quite a few times each day!.

For me, if I had stuck to the instructions it would not have gone.

Squiffy01 · 20/10/2023 23:34

Yep. Mine looked like that. I had a huge one for at least 8 years nothing would send it away. Eventually I just kept using barzuka max strength on it. Which I had used before but the packet says don’t use for more than a month. I just kept using it until it finally went can’t remember exactly but was definitely over 6 months.

Bazinga007 · 20/10/2023 23:48

I used to.swim alot and get them all the time, my dad used to cut them out with a stanley knife blade 🤣🤣🤣

Cryingbutstilltrying · 21/10/2023 00:00

Definitely a verruca, yes.
DS had a massive one that looked similar, tried all sorts on it.
He was a complete wuss so nothing too painful or invasive was allowed anywhere near it.
In the end I got a Scholl pen treatment, it was a blue liquid that you put on for 4 days, then left it 4 days, then attacked with a file (or nails, depending on your nature) and repeated up to 4 times. After the first two times a bit of dead skin came off, then the 3rd time a huge chunk just pulled out of his foot, it was massive, like 5mm thick, and it was gone. It was glorious. DS still talks about that happy moment 3 years later…

OldTinHat · 21/10/2023 00:16

That's a verruca! I had horrible ones on my feet, then, because I fiddled with them, ended up with them on my knee (?!) and on my hand. For about seven years.

I tried everything.

One morning I woke up, and I kid you not, they'd all vanished overnight! It was so bizarre.

LyndaLaHughes · 21/10/2023 23:58

File it down, then cover with dark nail varnish and repeat this process every night. Works a treat!

I had that with a wart on my knee, I’d had it for years then one day I realised around lunchtime that it was just gone. I mean I guess it must have fallen off but I never saw it on the floor or anything! Never had a wart since.

Schlurp · 25/10/2023 01:54

ooh that looks sore. It looks exactly like a verruca to me, but I see a lot fewer feet than your podiatrist. Why did they say no to the salicylic acid?

High strength Bazuka works for me but alongside soaking, and keeping the bazuka covered by the sticky bit of an old fashioned fabric plaster - like duct tape but sticks better. I think the tape makes a big difference.

Threewordseightletters · 25/10/2023 02:34

The gold standard for treating very large or stubborn verrucas is SWIFT. Only some private podiatrists offer it as I think the machine needed is quite expensive. Amazing results though

MsPolly · 25/10/2023 02:52

I had one for years that wouldn't budge. Salactol wart paint got rid of it 👍🏻
