Partly treated verruca or something else?!

At the end of June, I noticed my 8yr old had a verruca, I got the extra strength bazuka and was impressed when within a week I could pick off what seemed to be the black core and thought job done, however, he's still complaining of some discomfort & there's still a hard feeling round plaque (as visible in the photo.

Does anyone know if I should still be bazuka'ing this or is it something else?!

Looks like hard skin and possibly still very verruca. Use pumice stone and pop to pharmacist to ask them

It looks like the verruca is still there.
I'd pumice away the hard skin and treat again.

When it's gone it'll be totally gone. I read recently that it's a myth that the black bit is the root and it's actually just old blood. So getting the black bit doesn't mean it's gone.

Keep treating and filing consistently and it'll go.

Still a verruca. Keep treating and filing down every other day I til the whole lot comes out. He'll be left with a hole but it'll close up in no time in my experience.

Yes, the verucca is still there, it’s quite common for them to grow inwards on the sole of the foot.

DO NOT use a pumice stone. That will cause it to spread as bits of virus infected skin lodge in the pumice stone.

Use a piece of Emory board to file and dispose after each use. Then do the bazuka or other topical treatment.

The “black bit” is the blood supply to the verruca. As they grow they tap into your capillaries and siphon off some blood. The topical treatment is acid and it cauterises the capillary part of the verruca which turns it black.

Meh, leave it. Once it’s gone by your body defences your free of them forever.

Yes but during the years that takes it can spread, it can grow to be very uncomfortable and you can infect hundreds of others around you by going to swimming pools and sharing showering facilities.

@OppsUpsSide well that one will be gone but it doesn't mean you don't get one again. If I don't treat mine they last for literally years and can be quite painful. I've had one after another too, it's not a case of becoming immune once one is gone.

Thank you all - am back to filing & treating again 👍🏻
I remember the hole I was left with after I had a verruca treated at the same age. Now as a true sporner am looking forward to that moment now!!
