What is this on my foot?

I've had this on the top of my foot for a few months now. Thought initially it was a blister but it's not, then thought it could be a wart but Bazooka hasn't done anything. I have tried to pop it, and all I've done is made it sore. It's quite hard and has a kind of double head and every fibre of my being wants to stick a pin in it but I don't know if I should.

Anyone have any idea what it is? Help me, fellow sporners! Grin

I don't know but I would have definitely stuck a pin in that by now if I were you!!

SeeTheLittleGoblin · 16/11/2020 21:39

@Crazycrazylady - believe me it's so tempting, I'm awful for squeezing my spots. I just worry that it's a wart or something after all and I might make it worse. Happy to try to stab it though if general consensus is in my favour Grin

If it is a wart stabbing it can help as it can alert your immune system to the fact that it is there.

Does it feel like there is a hard capsule under the skin that would dodge out the road of you stick a pin in it though? It kind of looks like a double cyst to me.

@Brenna24 - interesting about the wart - so that might actually make it start to clear up if it was? I've never had one, barring a verucca or two when I was a kid (memories of the chiropodist - ick).

No, it just feels like a really hard spot, doesn't feel like there is a cyst or anything under it. Though it is quite small, so hard to tell.

So I tried attacking it and not getting much joy. Just a bit sore now but I was being a bit of a wimp about it.

Never had a spot like it (which makes me wonder if it is actually a spot!).

Anyone?

I would wait until you've had a shower/bath so the skin is nice and soft, then prick the hell out of it! But I have a very high pain threshold and would not be able to leave it alone 😂

Ds had something like this on his chin for months. Was bizarre it just wouldn't shift. One night I put sudocrem on it and the next morning it had gone completely. I'm still baffled!

Nikhedonia · 17/11/2020 22:35

Yes, this isn't the best place to ask. We just want you to pop it and post photos Grin to hell with any health issues it will cause.

See if this was someone else's foot, I'd be exactly the same. Damn it, it is my foot and I want to pop the bastard.

Will have a go after my shower tomorrow and try to get documentary 'foot'age Grin

How strange! I've tried Sudocrem, made no difference to mine.

Been googling all day and can't find anything like it really apart from milia but that seems to mainly be around the eyes.

It could be Molluscum contagiosum?

DodgeRainClouds · 17/11/2020 23:01

I agree looks like molluscum. My daughter has the spots at the moment

That's more like it! Grin

Yes. It does look like that.

Interesting. The spot isn't itchy and it's isolated to that one spot. I thought it spread more if it was something like that. But then again I've no experience with molloscum - any tips on what to do about it? Assume attacking it with a needle is a no no?

Molluscum spots can be isolated and don't have to appear in a group. Even if it isn't MC, I would try to avoid the temptation to poke it. This may spread and / or increase the risk of bacterial infection. Both my DC have had MC and I have also had it. I don't think there is a remedy - they just clear up by themselves but it can take a year to 18 months.

YorkshireParentalPerson · 21/11/2020 17:49

We popped some of our sons molluscom. Soaked it with really hot water, broke the skin with a sterilised needle and squeezed the core out. Not sure that's what you should do but his was putting out a runner so seemed quickest way to deal with it!

GlamGiraffe · 14/01/2021 02:37

Tathr laye up the party. Id agree these aremolluscum contagiodum and shouldnt be touched as thry can spead furiously if the viral matter in them is disturbed and you can end up covered in hundreds of them. By some molludab online to treat them with it tends to work very well.

Oblomov20 · 14/01/2021 03:20

I opened up ds2's molluscum with a needle, then put on molludab, which stung. And that started the body to fight it, then they were quickly gone.

kirktonhouse · 14/01/2021 03:46

I was going to guess the first stage of dihydrous eczema but you said it doesn't itch. Mine starts as a small blister like this, then gets itchy and red which is mostly the stage that you see photographs off on google. Then the skin flakes right off.

That explains why a wart I’d had for years suddenly disappeared a little while after I’d caught it with a razor!
