Is this just dry skin, or is it something more sinister? It started years ago with pompholyx eczema and my skin hasn't been the same since!

That just looks like dry skin to me, with a crack developing.

Just a dry foot with a cracked heel
Exfoliate and moisturise

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/04/2020 20:04

Dermatonics Once Heel Balm should fix that. Expensive but worth it, imo.

If you are diabetic you can get it on prescription.

Thankyou for the recommendation! I will have a look! X

My partner has pompholyx on his feet (I have it on my hands, what a pair we make!) and his feet look exactly the same as yours. I help him file the skin away with pumice stones and various other gadgets. Keep moisturising the skin, and try soaking them then filing it off.

madcatladyforever · 19/04/2020 23:05

Eczema doesn't help but basically it's just dry skin. If you put flexitol on that for one month every single day it will look as soft as a babys bum.

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 21/04/2020 11:02

Looks like a lot like mine, I've got pompholyx as well. My favourite debridement is slathering with generic moisturiser, feet into plastic bags for an hour, then rub with a bit of antique soft red brick.

If you haven't been doing much walking around or wearing shoes at the moment, they can appear as the equivalent of a pressure sore, especially if you tend to tuck your legs up on the settee to work from home all day because the House Twat is occupying your spare room with the desk and supportive office chair

Bastard things itch and burn. Thick socks, slippers or (ugh) wearing shoes around the house help it go away.

Northernsoullover · 22/04/2020 22:27

How odd. Reading this has made me realise that my pompholyx that has been with me for 20 years hasn't turned up this year.. it must be all the barefooting I'm doing.
