Meet my verruca, it has been residing on a large part of my foot for around 8 years now and I've had enough. I have tried:

Freezing off
Chemist stuff; bazooka etc
Gouging
Duct tape
Nail polish
Cider vinegar
Banana peel
Poking and slicing with knives
Supplements

Nothing has worked, actually i think gouging has been the most successful as it has reduced in size a bit but the middle bit us too deep to gouge without proper medical knowledge.

Any words of wisdom?

Thank you for everyones replies and sorry to the fellow sufferers!

I've already had it frozen several times so reluctant to try again as it was fucking agony. I've been given the super strong acid too.

I can't take anything that messes with my immune system such as thuja unfortunately as I'm already on immune system meds.

I have never gone to a chiropodist as I thought it would be prohibitively expensive but £50 is manageable so I will definitely look in to that. Also i read on here that nowadays chiropodists just send you away and say it will go away itself Hmm

The only thing here i have not tried is morning spit!! Confused but to be honest I'm try anything now!

Boobybum when you say apply tea tree do you mean just dab it on with no plaster, does it not just wipe off on your socks immediately? Will try that though as i have some and though i tried it before it was a while ago now.

Looking forward to hearing about the morning spit! The body is a strange thing, you will have heard about charming warts?

When DS was about ten, he had awful warts on one finger. We followed all the advice, tried the treatments, still there. He felt very uncomfortable and eventually I gave in to his requests to go to the doctor. The doctor assured him it would go away all on its own. The very next week, his finger was completely clear. No sign at all. Freaky. So try the old remedies, rubbing with a gold ring, morning spit, selling it to someone for 50p. Sometimes your body pays attention and sorts it out.

You can get varucca plasters that come with poison dots - waterproof plaster - gone in 3 days - look in amazin or local chemist if you're lucky

Iamchanging · 23/01/2017 22:41

This is an odd one but twice now I have had them for over five years and tried most of the treatments above (including docs) to no avail. What cured them both times (only made the link after the second time) was going on a very hot holiday and walking on burning hot sand for a week. The type you hop around on it's so hot. Best treatment ever!!!

After swimming lessons; my young son got two on one foot at the same time. I bought the highest rated verucca treatment product from Boots the chemist and it didn't make a jot of difference to the appearance of the veruccas over a period of nearly two weeks continuous use (exactly as instructed).
I was then recommended Bazooka (which was half the price of the other). Followed the instructions to the letter and within days could see them starting to shrink. They were completely gone within two weeks - couldn't event tell they'd been there. I was very impressed.

tobecontinued2000 · 23/01/2017 22:45

You need hibiscrub.

Wash your foot twice a day in this stuff in a foot spa/basin. Cover with banana peel daily and then freeze every 3rd day.

It's a lot of work but it will get rid of that or at least reduce it.

Boots freeze stuff is very good.

dancemom · 23/01/2017 22:46

I second tea tree oil!

I had my verucca for over 15 years and tried everything!! Even attend a podiatrist every week for a year until she told me to give up and accept I was never getting rid of my verucca!

What worked was chopping up nail files and disposing each piece of file after use to avoid reinfection, filing and tea tree oil every night. Plasters wouldn't stay on mine so I did without and within a few weeks it started reducing and within 6 weeks it was gone completely!!

gassylady · 23/01/2017 22:51

Don't worry if the thuya is homeopathic it won't affect your immune system (but it won't work either as no active ingredients Grin Finally found some stuff that worked for my sons will post again when I can find the tube

gassylady · 31/01/2017 23:04

Cuplex that's the stuff available on amazon

cantthinkofabloodyname · 31/01/2017 23:53

My ds has had a mass of verrucas like yours OP for over 6 years now. I discovered the silver nitrate pencil, after someone on MN recommended it. It seems to be the only thing that has made any impact on his verrucas. Unfortunately the tip of the pencil broke away so I'm going to have to buy a new one. It does make the skin it's in contact go black though. His mass of evilness has a big black crust on it that is now starting to lift away. I will post a photo tomorrow.
He screamed at the freezing stuff & was terrified at me using it again, so we scrapped that idea.

Hotbot · 01/02/2017 08:21

If your immune system is shot perhaps that's why your verruca is resistant to treatments

cantthinkofabloodyname · 01/02/2017 16:57

This is DS verruca cluster that is finally getting killed off from using the silver nitrite pencil, then I've used bazooka on the bits that have lifted away

Oh your poor DS! I am in the middle of a battle with a 10-year-old verrucaand I'm using sliced garlic plastered on each night. Been doing it for two weeks and it has definitely reduced for the first time in years.

TipBoov · 01/02/2017 17:14

I had a verucca for over 10 years and tried everything. The only thing that worked was laser removal. Not cheap, but worth it.

GiaContettiBonafetti · 01/02/2017 17:31

Wow, that must be awful for him, cantthink!

But it looks like you've killed the bastard! Does it hurt?

Can you just buy the silver nitrate at the chemist?

cantthinkofabloodyname · 02/02/2017 00:05

Gia he says it doesn't hurt now. It has caused him a lot of discomfort in the past though. I bought the silver nitrate on Amazon but I know that Boots pharmacy can order it in.

GiaContettiBonafetti · 02/02/2017 09:59

Thanks, cantthink Have to admit, I'm a bit jealous of when it falls off! Is that weird? Wink

GeekLove · 02/02/2017 10:09

My 7 year old DS had a monster that grew up in the time he was at DMs over the autumn half-term. The black bit alone was the size of a pinhead.
I got prescription strength salicylic acid and rubbed the top off after every bath.
By Christmas is was proud enough that I could tweezer it out and squeeze like a giant blackheat - it did hurt DS but I got the whole thing out - was 5mm long in total down to the root and similar across at the top. It had quite a bulbous root if I recall.
It didn't half bleed though where it had tapped the capililary and the scab was massive but no trace of it remained.

Oblomov17 · 02/03/2017 19:11

Blimey that ds one is gross!!

IAmNoMan · 30/04/2017 19:07

#cantthinkofabloodyname - did your DS's verucca go in the end?

firsttimemum15 · 02/05/2017 19:29

The only thing that got rid of a plantir (sp) wart on my thumb ?it wasnt a lumpy wart iyswim) was a cotton bud dipped in bleach and held on it. Cleared up alomost over night. I tried absolutely everything else

AnyFucker · 02/05/2017 19:33

Fucking hell, that monster should have it's own postcode

Do you send it xmas cards ?

oleoleoleole · 02/05/2017 19:34

I second chiropodist too. They put something on it, I want to say sulphuric acid but I think that's wrong, then tape it over. Only thing that killed mine!
