I have a question! We have always done villa holidays, self catering, car, but due to various family issues can no longer do this. I would like to take teenagers away by myself on a self catering package holiday but every time I try to book online on the TUI home page I come up against the fact that the system insists you have an adult in with a "child". So the only way I can do it is to have me and my two teenage boys share a room which would not be a holiday for anyone. How do I book a package holiday with two rooms, when I am the only adult?

dream holiday destination Anywhere with interesting places to visit that you can get to by public transport or there are trips offered; and preferably somewhere beautiful
time of year, Summer holidays
preferred catering style self catering
, kids' ages, 15 and 17
budget £4,000 or under

HobNobAddict · 22/07/2024 10:19

dream holiday destination -Portugal
time of year September
preferred catering style Buffet style
kids' ages 2, 8 and 11
budget 5k
questions - Mine is in respect of the catering - I want a good menu choice, but it has to be healthy safe food - so are hotel kitchens inspected, can I request the menus ahead of booking so that I can be confident that there is something for everyone, and the kitchen is a clean safe place for food prep - with trained staff.

thank you

lovemyflipflops · 22/07/2024 10:27

I'd love to go to Disney Land in America - it's our dream holiday. The time of year is not that important - although it needs to be in the school holidays - but at a good price - with a deal if possible (spending money at the park for example).
My budget would be around 4 k.
So my question would be, if I select the room only option, how easy can it be to change my booking to tailor the meals option, or can there be a self catering room where I can prepare breakfasts and a light lunch to take with us in a cool bag ?

ohdannyboy · 22/07/2024 10:31

What would my options be if I booked a holiday in 2026- and as has happened to us in the past, my flight times have changed from a reasonable daytime flight to a redeye flight ?
I want to go to Mallorca, a hotel with good childcare and activities budget is 3k for 3 of us - 2 adults and 1 child age 7.
If we had our flights changed - can I cancel - or move flights but keep the holiday ?

Lighter22 · 22/07/2024 17:00

I have two year old twins and would like a holiday which is toddler friendly but still with luxury for the adults.

Dream holiday destination - Somewhere in Europe ideally within 3 hour flight from Stansted
Time of year - October/November

Preferred catering style - All inclusive
Kids' ages - 2 year old twins
Budget - £5k

SlipperyLizard · 22/07/2024 17:05

Now the kids are older they’re less entertained by a swimming pool. I’d like to go somewhere for two weeks that isn’t mega hot, and has plenty to do that’s not just swimming/sunbathing! I

dream holiday destination - somewhere not too hot!

time of year - summer or Easter hols

preferred catering style - AI

kids' ages - 13 & 15

budget - up to 10k

mindtheGAAP · 22/07/2024 18:06

I'd love to go to Italy 🇮🇹 to do some sightseeing and take in some history, as well as enjoy some Italian cuisine. But the kids would prefer an all inclusive swim every day type holiday. What's the best way to combine what we all want?!

Destination: Italy
Time of year: School holidays - Easter, May 2025
Ages: 8-10, 2A2C
Duration: 7-10 days
Budget: £4-5k

prawncocktailcrispss · 22/07/2024 18:41

I would love to go to Portugal - it's somewhere I've never been to, it looks quieter and less 'touristy' than Spain - with a short flight for the kids. So where would you recommend in Portugal - with the best beach, quiet but hotel equipped for children ?
Destination: Portugal (but where ?)
Time of year: School holidays - Easter, May 2025
Ages: 9 and 13
Duration: 7-10 days
Budget: £3k

marniemae · 22/07/2024 20:04

We haven't had a family holiday yet all together - we are a family of 4, 2 girls aged 3 and 4 months!

Our dream holiday destination would be somewhere / anywhere hot in October/November, outside of school holidays. Self catering as fussy toddler. Budget would be 5k for us. My question would be where would be the best place where my parents could come as well? Early 70s and mum has a few mobility issues. We'd love 2 separate living spaces but connected if you see what I mean? So where would be best please for us and parents! Thanks

Rocknrollstar · 23/07/2024 07:20

We are in Gran Canaria and should have flown home last Friday. When are you going to get us home and what compensation will you give us?

littlecottonbud · 23/07/2024 08:17

I think if you can - and the child is the right age and can cope with the flights and general volume of numbers of Disney Land.
Destination: Disney land - but which of the 2 is best for flights and accommodation. ?
Can I specify 'no night flights' to reduce the jet lag ?

Time of year: School holidays - Easter, June 2025
Ages: 7 and 11
Duration: not sure - that would depend on costs and flight times
Budget: £5

chickenpotnoodle · 24/07/2024 09:15

My dream holiday destination would be Australia.
Would have to be in the school holidays 14 days
Catering - I think b and b then we would be able to eat out and explore the locality.
Kids ages 14 and 16
budget 12k

My question would be Can this type of holiday be done in stages, so the flights can be reduced, would you able to have a staged long haul holiday, I was thinking 4 days travel each way, and 10 days in Oz.

thanks

DenDenDenise · 24/07/2024 11:17

I'd love to go to Iceland with my children 8 and 11, to see the Northern Lights and experience this country and the glaciers - great for geography studies. I'd want 5 to 7 days there, and be on a b and b basis. I don't have a fixed budget, I'd just want to know our options for a break in Winter 24 or Spring 25.

Threeweeksold · 24/07/2024 11:18

How do I change a name on the booking of a flight with British Airways and also with easy jet.

FizzyDucks · 24/07/2024 11:42

I have a question....

Why were my mum and dad dumped in a conference room at a hotel in Greece and expected to sleep on this conference room floor using a table cloth as a blanket after their flight home was cancelled last week with no rep available from TUI for 15 hours?

My parents booked their holiday with TUI and on their return home last week, they (along with the rest of their plane) were told their flight home was cancelled after checking in. They had to wait 3 hours for their luggage to be taken off the plane and returned to them and following this they were transported to a hotel with all the other passengers on the plane and were dumped in a conference room. No TUI bothering to come for 15hours to explain what was going on.

When TUI eventually turned up, my parents (along with the rest of the plane that included elderly people, a disabled man and families with small children) were told they had to stay in this conference room overnight. My parents had to sleep on the floor with only pillows to put on the floor and use table cloths as blankets. People created their own family spaces out of tables and chairs to create privacy. There was no access to showers.

I can appreciate that the IT glitch was an unprecedented situation but for TUI to treat people this way is beyond despicable. Do not book with TUI.

Mnk711 · 24/07/2024 15:47

dream holiday destination - somewhere warm within c6h flight time of UK, Sept 24, all inclusive ideally but not fussed, kids 1y and 3y, budget £4k for 2 weeks. Want to be near a beach with nice pools and activities for the kids but also wildlife and scenic nature.

youareonlyhereonce · 24/07/2024 16:23

I'd love a family get away - with extended family if possible, grandparents and my sister and her family. (for a BIG birthday)

SO my question is how easy is this to arrange, getting rooms on the same floor, getting a dinner table together, and finding a hotel which caters from 8 to 60 years with activities for all generations.

When - Summer holidays 2025
Location - Fuertaventura - for 7 - 10 days
budget- for our family of 4 around 3k
dining - all inclusive (but with a good selection and where kitchens are of a good standard)

We would go self catering if there were bungalows etc near to supermarkets at a push.

thanks

Cheeseand2veg · 24/07/2024 16:27

I'd love to go to Croatia as 2 adults and 3 children to a hotel where all 3 kids can be in one room. A family of 5 makes things so tricky. We'd love to be near a beach and do some sightseeing aswell as lounge by the pool. We can be flexible on budget if we could just find somewhere to accommodate all 5 of us!

Beautifulsunflowers · 24/07/2024 16:30

Italy on on top of my list next year and Ive narrowed it down to sorrento and the Amalfi coast. I’d like to go in September for around 10 days and see as much as I can with day trips and the odd day relaxing by the pool. It’s just me and my partner.
My question is how is the best way to do this? Multi centre holiday? Stay in one place and hire a car? Organised tour holuday? It’s a minefield of options!!!

SarahSosej · 24/07/2024 16:37

I flew with TUI to Rhodes last year and loved it. I’m looking further afield for the next holiday and am interested in Mexico. Can you recommend a family friendly resort on the beach with a water park or lazy river and good food choices? Many thanks!

BigPussyEnergy · 24/07/2024 16:48

Dream holiday is a villa in Tuscany for me and my 3 grown up DCs, with a pool and preferably onsite chef! I’ll go anytime, I’m easily pleased like that!

My question is, do the agents in your stores have access to holidays that aren’t available online? I saw a Tui shop and suggested popping in earlier today but my daughter said we may as well just look online ourselves.

edited to add: if I win you can use one of my other usernames in your promos Grin

ASongOfRiceAndPeas · 25/07/2024 00:02

Dream holiday destination: either Rhodes, Portugal, Turkey or Mexico if budget allows! Possibly Spain if quality of hotel is high enough
Time of year: between Saturday 5 July to end of August 2025, for 5-7 nights
Preferred catering style: Full board or all inclusive
Kids' ages: one child aged 14 (in 2025)
Budget: around £3k
Questions, concerns or any other details: really want to go somewhere luxe and more elevated than the usual family oriented hotels, as it will be our first abroad. Clean hotel with nice room, preferably split with partition/family room or some type of suite for privacy as a single mum with a boy. Would love a swim up room or private pool too. We would like to enjoy what the hotel has to offer in terms of entertainment and sports suitable for a teen who’s an only child, watersports would be amazing and maybe with the possibility of exploring the local area? A big ask I know!

I would prefer hotels that aren’t too big but still with 5* facilities as my child has additional needs and would find a massive hotel overwhelming.

RhetoricalRectangle · 25/07/2024 00:43

Dream holiday destination: Thailand
Time of year: Just not rainy season!
Peferred catering style: All inclusive
Kids' ages: 8 months, 4
Budget: £3-4k

Question: Will there ever be an AI option that caters for food allergy sufferers? Would LOVE if there was a hotel with allergy trained chefs who could guarantee safe dining for those with multiple food allergies. Even if it meant certain sections of the buffet were out of bounds, or only a few restaurants were on board..

Oopsohnoherewego · 25/07/2024 06:41

My son is obsessed with the TUI Blu TBOTS. Why do you not have a cuddly toy? You did for Captain T.
