Overall did you and/or your family enjoy the event?
Yes, very much!
- Do you feel that the event was family friendly? If so why?
We had tickets to various shows in the bafta theatre as part of the day. In advance, I was unsure if we would be able to take our 6 month old in. However we were pleasantly surprised. She was welcomed in, and the staff went out of their way to welcome us all and make sure the baby was happy. (Providing us aisle seats, letting us use speedy exits etc).
Overall, I’m not sure the event would be great for a child much older than her though. Lots of queues and not many options of things to do. There was certainly nothing for toddlers, so next year might be harder.
- How does your experience at the event today make you feel about the NFL in the UK?
Positive, however it was positive before!
- How does having the NFL Kickoff on Piccadilly impact, if at all, on your interest in the NFL?
No impact, I’m still a big fan.
- Was there anything you felt could have been improved at the event?
There could have been a wider range of activities. I was sad to not see any of the games from the tailgate/previous events (the throwing/kicking games or the inflatable obstacle courses)
- How did you find the activities such as: On-stage entertainment, including the concert, Meet and greets with NFL Legends, signing sessions, Screenings of the new America’s Game, featuring the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII victory, Kids’ Zone, with NFL mini-pitch and NFL mascots, NFL Shop and the chances to win prizes?
My husband and I both ‘won’ a pair of nfl sunglasses. They were rubbish! If they’re going to offer prizes, it would be better to have less chance of winning but winning a decent prize. I can’t imagine anyone would want the plastic tat of sunglasses we won!!
We attended nfl live and the around the nfl podcast live in the theatre, which were both brilliant.
The food area was good, we had the brisket which was AMAZING. However we were lucky to to be vegetarian. There was only one veggie option, and no options at all for vegans.
Ultimately, the best part of the event was the ticketed part, and tickets (which were free) were limited and snapped up very quickly, so the people getting the biggest benefit were already big followers of the sport.
