We're looking for 10 Mumsnetters and their DCs to attend a special day out at Chessington World of Adventures Resort (tickets alone worth up to £150) and tell us all about it.

Here's what Chessington say: "We're very excited to invite Mumsnetters and their families to experience all that Chessington World of Adventures Resort has to offer on this VIP day including meeting the Octonauts who recently arrived here at Chessington! The day will begin with an exclusive brunch in the Resort Hotel before heading on to the park to meet the Octonauts then all the families are free to enjoy the rest of the day on the park."

The event will take place on Sunday 30th June at Chessington World of Adventures Resort starting in the Resort Hotel. Unfortunately travel is not included however there will be free parking in the Resort Hotel car park for those who decide to drive.

The day will include a range of exciting activities for your DCs to enjoy, including:

  • An exclusive brunch to start the day
  • Animal meet & greets in the Resort Hotel
  • Refreshments available throughout the day in the Resort Hotel exclusively for MNers and families
  • Meet & greet Captain Barnacles and Kwazii from Octonauts
  • An opportunity to take part in the Octonauts Quiz Trail in Chessington's SEA LIFE centre
  • Tickets for the whole family to explore Chessington World of Adventures Resort for the rest of the day!

Those of you selected will be required to come back to a thread on Mumsnet after your day to share your experiences and also add a review to the reviews area on MN here.

We'd also love it if you could take a few photos of your day and upload them to the feedback thread. Photos may be used by Chessington World of Adventures Resort on Facebook, their website and possibly on other marketing material.

Of course Chessington World of Adventures Resort is a day out for all the family but for this event they are particularly interested in showcasing their rides and attractions to the under 5s. So, if you have at least one child under 5 and would like to have a great family day out at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, please sign up here.
Please note a maximum of 2 adults (aged 12 years and over) and 2 children per family can attend the day.

We'll be in touch with those selected on 19th June.

Thanks and good luck!

My DS would explode with joy. I haven't been since I was a kid!! If I've been at all. That might have been Thorpe park Confused

I'm filling in the application, hoping that I would be able to arrange to borrow one of their wheelchairs if I won.

Have got everything crossed - no way would I be able to afford to go somewhere like this, DS would be so so excited.

StillInBigKnickers · 10/06/2013 21:01

Done! Two under 5's, love theme parks, love Octonauts - crossing tentacles / paws / flippers here :)

Ezzymozzy · 10/06/2013 21:15

Sorry mistakenly ticked 5 years . My son is 8 so pls delete my application but we won't mind if selected .

jes73 · 10/06/2013 21:29

Would be a great bday for my little one :)

Ledkr · 10/06/2013 21:37

Done. Would be lovely wouldn't it.

MonsterBookOfTyRexs · 10/06/2013 21:47

Done

roundtable · 10/06/2013 21:52

Done! Thank you :)

wonderstuff · 10/06/2013 22:02

Done. Sounds fantastic

Nagoo · 10/06/2013 22:35

I quite fancy captain barnacles. he's so authoritative

HomageToCannelloni · 10/06/2013 22:49

Boooo! We have a prior commitment, and DS LOVES the Octonaouts with a love that knows no bounds! :(

LackaDAISYcal · 10/06/2013 23:28

too far for us...

but as a matter of interest, would one be able to do one adult and three DC?

These things never seem to cater for families of five or more so kind of exclude us anyway as there is no way we could leave someone out, other than one of the adults.

tootssweet · 10/06/2013 23:44

Think I have not answered one of the questions incorrectly - is ok to do it again? Brain needs to go to bed now!

TolliverGroat · 11/06/2013 04:07

Oh yes, have same question as LackaDAISYcal -- would it be possible to do one adult and three children rather than two adults and two children? Then there would still only be four people at the hotel activities and extra adult could buy a regular ticket to help out on rides etc. in the park afterwards.

StateofConfusion · 11/06/2013 09:44

I've got 3 dc but one is very small ebf and would spend the day in a sling i hope that doesn't count me out?

StateofConfusion · 11/06/2013 09:46

as my 4&5yo would lovelovelove to go they're octonaught mad and after dp got home from alton towers they've been desperate to go on ridesGrin

ChunkyPickle · 11/06/2013 10:48

My nearly 3 year old would absolutely love this - I think he'd probably explode with excitement if he met an Octonaut!

We were thinking about where to take him this summer and if an annual pass would be worth it considering we live fairly close, it would be fantastic to try it out for free!

Missymjf · 11/06/2013 11:21

Got my fingers firmly crossed for this one :)

jojane · 11/06/2013 11:27

We have 3 kids too, am hoping we could buy an extra ticket for the day?

Wiifitmama · 11/06/2013 21:31

I filled out the form assuming that three children and one adult would be ok as my eldest is 12 so I assumed he counted as an adult too. Hope I didn't do that wrong. Of course, if we could get an extra ticket so my husband could come too, that would be great. 2 kids does exclude a lot of modern families.

StillInBigKnickers · 11/06/2013 21:45

I can totally be patient until the 19th June to find out about this
we're ideal candidates - pick us, pick us!

I put my more usual NN's on the form btw, hope that's OK. Wink

KatieBMumsnet · 12/06/2013 11:12

For those asking about number of tickets etc, as long as the group is a maximum of 4 individuals this can be either 1 adult with 3 under 11s or 2 adults and 2 under 11s. Unfortunately we can't choose parties of more than 4 (even if you buy your own ticket on the day) due to limited spaces in the hotel area.
