Are you looking to find an easy way to make great tasting meals for your family? We have been asked by the team at George Foreman Grills to find 11 Mumsnetters to attend a cookery demo event in Manchester city centre on Tuesday 16th April and try out a grill at home.
The event will involve:

~ Attending a cooking demo of the George Foreman grills (and eating the results of the demo!) - at a penthouse apartment in Manchester City Centre between 10am and 2pm. The demo will be given by George Foreman's own cooking expert
~ A chance to try out George Foreman recipes yourself
~ Travel costs up to the value of £30 each will be paid - with valid receipts. You can also park near the apartment. The exact venue will be revealed to the selected Mumsnetters
~ With regret no children due to safety concerns.

After the demo each Mumsnetter will receive a George Foreman grill to trial (RRP will be between £49.99 - £89.99 depending on product availability) and a George Foreman Apron.

The day is designed to showcase:
~ How easy it is to cook quick and healthy food
~ How versatile a George Forman Grill is - selected Mumsnetters will be shown how to cook a variety of food including fish, vegetables and even desserts!

For this we are looking for Mumsnetters in the Manchester/North West area who have at least one child and who are interested in finding out about new ways to cook healthy family meals.

After the event we will need you to try out the George Foreman grill at home and record video footage of you and your family using it. You'll be given some recipe ideas and tips. Testers will then be required to add their feedback to a thread on Mumsnet.

If you'd like to apply to take part please add your details here.
All those selected will be emailed details.

Thanks
MNHQ

You stayed away from the windows pretty well though and the mooing lift didn't break down. :)

Hope your dh is ok.

Thank goodness the non-mooing lift arrived (eventually) first!

Not seen him yet, he's due home within the hour. Not entirely unexpected, but, you just hope it won't be you don't you.

Wonder when our grills will arrive...the demo's were fantastic today

Those lifts were weird. I got in the non mooing one to go down....the only person in it. Got to the 10th floor, lift stops, doors opened, no-one there, so I pressed the button and off it went again. When I reached the ground floor, as I stepped out the lift I heard a noise behind me and there was a bloke standing there! All I can think is that it's one of those opens on two sides jobs and he got in at floor 10 or he was a ghost though I'm sure I would have noticed another person Confused

He must have got on at floor 10 then. Tiptoeing creepy weird person.

I'm sure Emma said she would get the pancake recipe emailed out to us ilove, but I found this recipe which gives basic quantities and I guess you could omit or change the spices?

What has everyone tried on their George so far?
I've done cheese on toast & bacon but both times forgot to video it!
Also, I'm not too sure what I'm supposed to be videoing...

Mine arrived today so I haven't used it yet. I got a phone call yesterday with some pointers. Action shots, cute pics of dcs saying how yum it all is and use the phone horisontally so it can be all edited together.

Also be succinct in your summing up. That's about it I think.

I've done the burgers with cheese in (much smoking out of the kitchen Hmm ) and sausage and veg kebabs with honey and mustard glaze. Both went down well, but again forgot to video. I'm hoping to do some videoing this weekend though, as DH will be around to help. Can't figure out how I'll manage it myself!

Is there going to be a feedback thread as well?

I did a burger at lunchtime; again much smoking of the kitchen and setting off the smoke alarm Confused What am I doing wrong? a roomful of them last week was less smoky than my one burger!

I would guess that maybe you are putting too much oil on it, or your extractor fan isn't strong enough. Can you open a window?

I haven't got my George yet...

:( Hope it comes soon ilove.

I take back what I said about oil/ extractors etc. Mine smoked like a bugger too. End result tasted great though.
