Waitrose.com are offering 12 Mumsnetters (plus one guest each) a chance to attend a Michelin-star cookery masterclass at Waitrose Cookery School in London. They're looking for cooking enthusiasts who are interested in learning Michelin-star cookery skills from a professional chef and are keen to share their passion for food with like-minded Mumsnetters.

The event will take place on Saturday 12th May from 11am - 4pm at Waitrose Cookery School in North London. The venue is easy to get to using public transport (close to Finchley Road tube station on the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines).

Throughout the day Mumsnetters and their guests will be cooking a three course dinner party menu with all ingredients provided by Waitrose.com. Each course will be served in the dining room and you will have a chance to enjoy the menu you have prepared with a glass of wine specially selected to go with each course. The aim of the day is to inspire you to create your own Michelin-star-inspired dinner party menu!

The day will be filmed and the video will appear on Waitrose.com and possibly elsewhere. Please only apply if you're happy to be filmed. After the event you will be asked to leave written feedback on a thread on Mumsnet. Everyone who is selected to attend and adds their feedback on MN will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 voucher for Waitrose.com.

If you would like to attend please sign up here. When signing up, please vote for the starter, main course and dessert you would most like to cook (and eat!) on the day. The three most popular dishes chosen by Mumsnetters who apply to go along will form the menu that attendees will be cooking on the day. Here's a few of the choices on offer to whet your appetite!

~ Roast scallops, potato gnocchi and truffle emulsion
~ Rack of lamb with braised peas, bacon, lettuce and mint. Dauphinoise potatoes
~ Inverted lemon tart, summer fruit salad and lemon yoghurt sorbet

Please let us know about all dietary requirements when you sign up to take part. As you'll see from the menu choices, all of the starters and main course options include meat or fish. If you're a vegetarian, apologies - this probably isn't the event for you, sorry.

Attendance is by invitation only - we'll be in touch with full details if you are selected.

Thanks and good luck

Oooh, me me me!

I love cooking, and the Waitrose cookery school is lurvely! I went to a venison cooking lesson there which was amazing, but that was watching rather than actually cooking.

PuggyMum · 16/04/2012 17:25

Done! Would be fantastic to take part in this Smile

Tee2072 · 16/04/2012 17:25

Ah man, all the good stuff happens in London....don't suppose MNHQ wants to pay to fly me from Belfast? No? Didn't think so.

ShirtyKnot · 16/04/2012 18:28

Shall I apply Frank? We can go together!

Milliways · 16/04/2012 19:03

DS (16) has begged me to enter with him as guest. Maybe his phrase in the kitchen will change from "Jamie says......" :)

FrankWippery · 16/04/2012 19:05

Shirty - yes. Then we could accidentally stumble across a cocktail bar on our way back down to the correct side of the river. It would be extremely rude not to I feel Grin

QuintessentialShadows · 16/04/2012 19:12

London, London, always London Envy

Blu · 16/04/2012 19:41

Would there be a role for a one-woman Kitchen Nightmare, do you think? I could be the ine who shows just how good the others are, and provides the comedy diversion for the patronising voice-over.
"And in the Blue Kitchen, Blu seems to have made a disastrous confusion between an amuse bouche and the Mighty Boosh.."

veryconfusedatthemoment · 16/04/2012 19:44

I would have loved to have applied for this BUT am GUTTED that vegetarians are excluded. I would love to be able to cook stunning vegetarian food. It's out there somewhere!

Bum nuggets. London. Wouldn't be able to get there for this due to other financial commitments. Sigh.

beatenbyayellowteacup · 16/04/2012 19:55

Fingers crossed. Love to be able to cook posh nosh!

Is there a chance of another one - even if we have to pay for it - later on for the people who missed out?
