But Boden are usually really good for catering for different heights. And there are lots of pieces in the Autumn collection that I would love (please restock the cord shirt dresses!)- Boden have definitely upped their game for the new season.

Why?

Because we're going into party season, and these are luxe, elegant and versatile, far more so than a party dress: can be worn with jeans or with much smarter trousers, or with a skirt. So one item contributes to a lot of looks. Can also be worn at work during the day then accessorised for a 'do' in the evening.

When I go out, it's usually to a restaurant, so I'm only going to be seen from the waist up for most of the time . And most people's line of sight, even standing at a gig or a party, falls naturally on this upper body area. So spending my party £££s on a shirt rather than trousers or shoes has more effect. And of course a shirt will always be useful, even when it has to be retired from 'best'.

I've narrowed it down to the Kew Wool Trousers but ideally with matching jacket! I think the pink would brighten up my usual winter wardrobe, but go with all the navy and charcoal jumpers I already own.

The Marylebone Velvet Blazer in Vibrant Pink. It would look good over all black, navy, dark green, basically any dark coloured outfits. Would also look good with jeans.
