This activity is now closed

It’s half term and both you and your DC deserve some family time before the last leg of the summer term begins. If you have children of different ages, you know it can be difficult to find activities that entertain both. PizzaExpress would love find out the ways you bridge the age gap with activities that keep the children entertained, letting them express themselves.

Here’s what PizzaExpress has to say: “We love welcoming families into our restaurants and understand how precious time together is. Our goal is to make the time at PizzaExpress as enjoyable as possible, which includes not only delicious pizza but also fun & creative activities for Piccolos of all ages and the whole family to get involved in. What is it that makes it tick and ensures well-behaved children all round?”

Do you get them in the kitchen helping you create new dishes for the family? Perhaps you take family trips out that cater for all ages or go for a meal out in a family-friendly restaurant? Or maybe you have different variations of the same activity such as a colouring book for your younger DC and free-style painting for your older DC?

Whatever your ways to keep your DC of different ages entertained during the half term, post on the thread below and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Baking is a great activity to do with dc of all ages, visit beaches, go on two pence machine in arcade that way you only have to spend whats saved in your penny jar. having a indoor dvd cinema day which would include making a den, your own homemade pizza and popcorn.

I have 3 daughters with 4 years between them all, so not much but enough to cause the “I don’t want to do that it’s babyish” issue.

We try to compromise but have found outdoorsy activities/days out seem to go down the best. We have recently bought a membership for the Eden project and all three girls love it!

I also find anywhere that has ice cream goes down well and appeals to all!

Museums and art galleries are always a good option

We pack the picnic bag up , plenty of pop and treats and head off in the car to the local farms / nature reserves etc. Nice free family days out that create special memories .
If my friends kids come too there is an age gap so we pack a football and frisbee for the older boys and we take a sun shaded play tent for the babies

I have a Chester zoo pass. I have a 12 month old and 6 year old and they both adore it, and of course mum and dad get a lot of enjoyment seeing our little ones enjoy themselves too.

I find that swimming works for all ages, and pizza making crosses the age barrier too - anything that makes them forget the different and doesn't highlight their different knowledge!
