Our video team here at MNHQ are considering creating a video series on computer games - they would be expert led and the idea is that the series would be a helpful resource for parents.

However, before we give the go ahead or not, we would love to find out what you guys think about the idea! Smile

What sort of questions would you like answered? Would you want it to cover more basic stuff like picking a console and understanding online gaming etc. Or more advanced topics, such as explaining popular new releases and trends, advanced tips for parents, and watching e-sports?

Whatever your thoughts/ideas are on MNHQ creating a video series on computer games, please comment on the thread below what you’d like to know about computer games and you will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £50 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

This is probably well overdue. I consider myself quite 'with it' on video games, but over the last 12 months or so, I'm struggling to keep up with the latest trends, models, games etc.

I don't think you need to go too basic, but an explanation of the most popular games, what their ratings mean, the potential costs with in-game purchases etc., would be a great idea.

Is it possible to control the consoles chat functions? So that they can only talk to friends?

We rely a lot on digital media for learning resources, To watch films/TV shows, listen to audio books/music and play games.

I would love a app that makes you aware of mew recommended apps and free trials.

I would like to understand simple ways to restrict the time kids spend on tech or some good apps that can be installed to control their phone from your phone.

Do parental control really work, always feel children can easily get round them. Do enjoy some games though, feel they keep my brain ticking over!

picking a console is a good idea, and maybe what the age ratings mean?

Hi all,

Thanks for your amazing feedback.

We've tried to incorporate as much of it as possible. With that in mind we have our first episode - which is a parents' guide to Fortnite. Any feedback is welcome
