It’s no secret that children of all ages - from babies to teenagers - can do and say some hilarious things, (whether they mean to or not!) But sometimes it’s parents that have their own hilarious moments and it may be children’s reactions that make it even more humorous. With that in mind Arla Big Milk want to know some of your funniest parenting moments!

Have you ever had to quickly cover for your child’s unfiltered comments whilst out in public? Perhaps you’ve turned your back for one minute at dinner time and come back to find your child has decided to put the food over their head rather than in their mouth? Or maybe you’ve had to tell them off for something that is in fact hilarious and you just can’t keep a straight face?

Whatever your funny parenting moments, share on the below thread to be entered into a prize draw, where one lucky MNer will win a £300 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck

An event I can laugh about now but was mortifying at the time was when ds was about 7. He has autism and was obsessed with bald heads so would be incredibly excited on spotting a bald head pointing and clapping.
One lovely summer day we went to a really nice park for a wander and a run about to let off steam. Ds was seemingly happy running about with a football when suddenly he dropped it and ran. I knew shouting him was hopeless so ran after him but didn't get to him before he pounced on a bald headed sunbather, grabbed both his ears and sloppily licked his bald head screaming with joy.
I apologised profusely whilst trying to free ds's grip on his ears as ds shrieked in protest.
It is hilarious now but was mortifying at the time.

My daughter shouted on the tube on a visit to London there's a genie over there!!! When a lovely Sikh gentleman got on......!

honeyandginger48 · 28/10/2017 22:09

I still remember when the health visitor came for a home visit and I ushered her into our supposedly tidy living room only to be confronted by piles of poo that my newly ‘toilet trained’ daughter had snuck off earlier to do. Luckily I can laugh about it now.

K3rry · 28/10/2017 22:27

my daughter has said my mum doesn't want to come to yours to my friend!

patchysmum · 28/10/2017 22:36

There was a quite large lady sitting behind us in a cafe and my son said "that lady is having a baby,"as she was about sixty I doubted that was the case and shushed him quickly.

pfcpompeysarah · 28/10/2017 22:47

My son, a few years ago now, waited until we were at the checkout (typically whilst it was busy) to announce that he had done a loud fart and that it was 'really pooey and stinky'.

Six year old nephew could pick a coloured cowboy hat in themed restaurant we were celebrating his bd in. He shouts out 'don't pick the American flag one, people will think you like Donald Trump!' The waiter was in stitches.

freefan · 28/10/2017 23:26

My daughter went through a phase of everytime we were on a bus calling every man dad.. it got that bad I started dreading getting on one, then dad took her on the bus and she done the same with him which I found hysterical. She just thought every man was dad until she got the hang of calling them by their name.

My son liked the look of his daddy's Whisky. When we were at the shop he saw some Ginger Ale and called it Whisky. I brought him a bottle. When we were next up the shop, he shouted loudly 'don't forget my bottle of Whisky mummy'. Oops.

lhlee62 · 28/10/2017 23:36

My husband gets really bad road rage, we were in the car and he called another driver a "f8#@ing* bell@$D", I didn't think anything of it, but then when we were in the supermarket my 3 yr old daughter comes out with "f8#@ing* bell@$D". I couldn't walk away fast enough, needless to say my husband has been warned repeatedly to watch his mouth!

DinosaurSex · 28/10/2017 23:43

My son once threw an all-out temper tantrum, feed and arms hitting the floor, screaming at the top of his lungs. Why? I'd opened the fridge and declared we'd ran out of spinach. He was around 18 months at the time, I think. I think it scarred him for life, as he's never eaten it since...

If he is out with my mum my 7 year old tells any stranger who will listen the history about his grandma's 3 husbands - luckily he has good relationships with all of them!

glennamy · 29/10/2017 01:39

We were at the cinema and I asked DD if she needed to go to the bathroom, she said no, so after all the ads had finished and the audience had settled down and it went quiet she shouted out has everyone been to the toilet because you will miss some of the film... At least all the parents thought it was hilarious whilst i shrunk down into my seat...

My twins regularly start screaming monster and running off when random strangers walk by. Because there are two of them, it's pretty hard to ignore.

It doesn't matter how many times they do it, I can't get over the embarrassment. Luckily most people find it quite funny.

Havetohaveanewchufffingaccount · 29/10/2017 07:18

My children often do funny things-
Some examples are of one who ran into the patio door.

One shouted what's that smell very loudly and the whole line looked at us

On the beach recently my 3 year old lost her shoes after jumping on the sand and it was actually mud.

Jade5093 · 29/10/2017 07:20

Seeing my little boy drawing all over one of my cream leather dining chairs Confused those 10 minutes of piece and quiet beforehand were nice but I should have known something was going down!

ButterflyOfFreedom · 29/10/2017 07:33

DD (2 at the time) was always asking if a person was a man or a lady - in the loudest most indiscrete way! Most times this was ok but there have been a couple of occasions were it has caused embarrassment for the man / lady in question - and me of course!!

NeverTwerkNaked · 29/10/2017 11:24

My daughter on the plane yesterday! She’s three, and announced she needed a wee during take off- I said she could as soon as the seatbelt lights went off.

A grown woman had clearly heard our chat, and the minute the light went off she bounded up to make it to the toilet before my daughter.

DD was waiting patiently outside
and when the woman came out DD went in, then promptly came back out again and shouted “yuck it’s stinky” ! Complete with dramatic hand gestures.

I had to try hard not to laugh as DD unknowingly executed the perfect revenge!

towser44 · 29/10/2017 12:31

Last year we were lucky enough to stay in a hotel in Scotland with a Michelin starred restaurant. After eating the most amazing dinner, we were walking out of the packed out dining room to go our room and our 4 year old DD said in the loudest voice, "That was a lovely cafe Daddy". Everyone in the room was trying to keep a straight face as we rushed out half mortified and half laughing inside!

Marg2k8 · 29/10/2017 13:04

My DD was sick in pizza hut when she was about 5 or 6.

ameswright2906 · 29/10/2017 13:27

My 5 year old son was feeding his 18 month old sister in her highchair but he got it all over her face and in her so she grabbed the bowl of spag bol and put it upside down on his head! I could not stop laughing and my son was just crying!

katslo4 · 29/10/2017 13:42

The only one I can think of right now is when we were on the bus last week. We have a very small bus that goes round our area and my 5 year old just farted the loudest ever. My son seemed to think this was perfectly acceptable Lol.

Cailin7 · 29/10/2017 14:28

DCs were out playing and when they came home DS wellies and legs were covered in horse manure. His darling sister had told him if he jumps in the horse manure he will grow taller. It made us laugh so hard, then we had to get the hose out to wash the worst of the muck off.

CopperPan · 29/10/2017 17:52

One time I was putting my son to bed one night and he stroked my face, looked at me lovingly, and whispered in my ear that I was a "good dog".

Waitingforsleep · 29/10/2017 19:59

Getting a image text from daddy who had failed to notice dd had gone out in one wellie and one pump Blush
