We all want our DC to grow up with confidence and pride in everything they do, whether it’s making a structurally sound lollipop stick bridge or finally mastering the art of writing their own name. LEGO® Juniors would like to hear what your DC's proudest moments have been and how you encouraged them to achieve them.

Here’s what LEGO Juniors has to say: ‘NO is a word that is used a lot when you’re a parent, especially when your DC reach that age when they feel ready to explore and challenge boundaries. LEGO Juniors offer parents a way to support their children’s development at a time in life when their children go from being very dependent and in need of parental control, to becoming young and aspiring individuals that want to do everything by themselves.’

So what have your DC's proudest moments been and how have you encouraged them to build their confidence? Did you bravely take a step away from NO-LAND and say YES to letting them explore their independence and creativity? Or perhaps you kept on encouraging them so that one day they were finally able to colour inside the lines? Maybe they actually surprised you with their ability in a particular area or they might have made what to an outsider would seem like a small achievement but you know to be a major win.

Whatever your DC's proudest moments are, please share them below and you will be entered into a prize draw where you could win a £300 Love2Shop voucher, a LEGO Junior Fire Patrol Suitcase, or a LEGO Junior Mia’s Farm Suitcase. Please also share photos of their successes and achievements below; we’d love to see them.

Thanks and good luck!

My daughter was chosen to be Nancy in the School production of Oliver Twist. She was always very shy and an only child but jumped at the chance and threw herself into the role, so much so that she helped others with their "lines". She was so proud of herself on the day, and I was such a proud mummy.

Anytime I see my lad take the time to sit and play/read/talk to his younger sister makes me immensely proud. Feel like we have really achieved something when we see how much he loves her and wants to spend time with her. Will be interesting to see if it lasts through to teenage years :-)

One of my most proud moments was watching my shy boy in the school Nativity where he played the part of a king. He had been practising his lines for weeks and was excited and terrified at the same time. That was exactly how I felt when his turn came as I sat in the audience. My heart was in my hands as he walked up to Jesus and nearly tripped over his cloak but delivered the present without mishap. His lines were said quietly but audibly and I wiped away tears!

When my eldest son was just five an elderly neighbour used to play chess with him because I hate it and am not good at it. After one tournament, I asked him if he had enjoyed it and he replied 'Yes, although I let him win'

My eldest son took the STEP exam (required for Cambridge mathematics) and they lost his paper. This meant that he had to retake it the following year which gave him a lot more work. He took it so calmly and did not wish to try and get compensation.

My proudest moment was when they made their first real friend because they are extremely shy this was always a very difficult thing to do.

When we went to France and ordered non-alcoholic cocktails in a restaurant, and my daughter (7 or 8) didn't like the colour of her stirrer, and so asked in fluent French to have a different colour.

learning to skip again after breaking her leg at 5.

My 5 year old recently had 12 inches of her hair cut off to be made into a wig for a child undergoing chemotherapy. She had been growing it since birth and came to the decision to donate her hair by herself after asking questions about a little girl the same age as her who has cancer and has lost her hair. She also raised £600 for the charity and did all the fundraising herself, experience explaining to people the reasons behind her fund raising. This act of kindness made me incredibly proud of my Daughter and she's already thinking of what she can do next to help people/animals.

My son's proudest moment was sweeping the board at his swimming clubs championship. All his hard work paid off!

I'm proud of my son at the moment for getting a certificate for having a "growth mindset". I had no idea what this was (basically it is positive thinking and believing you can have a go at something even if it is difficult).

My son for getting his pen license yesterday! He's struggled with every part of school, and I didn't think he would be able to get the hang of it, ever. But yesterday he came home with a headteachers award for brilliant literacy work and perfect handwriting, and his pen license too! So proud. I also love that he enjoys using the thesaurus when he writes, and his work is full of amazing words and ideas!

Watching the bond between our two sons and how they help and support eachother in practical and emotional ways. So proud of both of them.

janeyf1 · 08/03/2017 10:03

I am so proud of my DC, she is always surprising me with how smart she already is - winning spelling bees and getting top marks at school

Firewall · 08/03/2017 10:15

I'm proud of my LO moving to a new school and despite being shy, really tried hard to settle in and make friends.

MrsDramaQueen · 08/03/2017 10:16

My son has Autism so didn't speak for a long time and when he did speak we couldn't understand him because it was in his own language. Lol. He's coming up to 5 now and in the last 6 months his speech has become clearer and were understanding him. He's so proud and less frustrated that he can get his message across.

GrumpyOldBlonde · 08/03/2017 10:24

I am immensely proud of my daughter, she is kind, stubborn and is really learning to think things through for herself. I am enjoying watching her become a young woman and seeing her develop as a person.

She has a great deal of empathy for others and I see flashes of huge generosity in her.

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 08/03/2017 10:32

My youngest has always struggled with confidence and refused to leave my side at activities or parties until he was well into Year 1.

He asked to join the performing arts club his brother went to (mostly because there's a tuck shop!) and made us so proud when he got up on stage and performed with his little group last month!

My daugther is going to be three years old in few months time and I am so proud that she is fully potty and wee trained except for sleeptime and majorly doing it independantly, she is really kind and helps me sometimes in small household work...

becky004 · 08/03/2017 12:10

My DS has ASD so there have been very many proud moments as he surpassed everyones expectations. His greatest achievement after being non verbal until he was 4, was to have a main speaking part in the end of term assembly in front of the whole school and their parents.

beckyinman · 08/03/2017 12:39

Proudest moment is seeing my 2 year old being giving and loving and always happy to share even though she is an only child
