We've all been there - trying to find something to cook for your child’s fussy friend during a playdate. Lidl are after your tips and recipes for the kind of food that always goes down a treat when you're having kids over for playdates. Do you play it safe with fish fingers and chips? Or do you have some other less conservative recipes and meal suggestions that are guaranteed to please? Maybe you have a pasta and sauce combo that no child has yet turned their noses up at.

Share your ideas, tips and recipes below and you will be entered into a prize draw where you could win one of five £50 Lidl vouchers.

Thanks and good luck

We go down the pizza route. Something for everyone choosing their toppings. Often, we go homemade - picking up some fresh ingredients from Lidl and making our own - turning it from just the meal to a playdate activity too.

I make sure that I have a selection of fruit and vegetables cut into batons and a variety of dips. These make a much better treat than lots of sweets or crisps and my kids prefer them.

Cheese and courgette muffins are always a hit (nobody realises there is any veg in them) I roast carrots, sweet potatoes and make them into chip shapes. :)

Making a pizza with them works for me

If they are tiny, I have yet to find a child who doesn't eat pasta with green pesto and cheese.

If they are three-plus then top your own pizza is my top tip. Simply buy a little individual pizza (about 50p each in lidl!) then chop little bowls with mushroom, lumps of chicken, strips of ham, sweetcorn, tomato and cheese. Put the bowls on a tray on the kitchen table and get the kids in.
If they have picked and made their own topped pizza, every kid will eat it!

I make smiley face pizza baguettes they are quick and easy and a big thumbs ip from kiddies . I cute a baguette in half put a dollop of chopped tinned tomatoes on , a sprinkle of cheese , a pepper for the mouth and two cherry toms halved for the eyes and bake in the oven for about fifteen minutes .
They are fun and they it makes them eat salad ,I often serve with sweet potato chips
