We know that breaking your pregnancy news can be an exciting time, so the team at Clearblue would love to hear about how you told your friends & family.

Clearblue say "At Clearblue we love hearing how women found out they were pregnant, particularly those we have been able to help in someway, and would love to hear from Mumsnetters how they shared their news about the new addition to the family."

So, how did you tell your friends & family that you're pregnant? Did you try to tell those closest to you in person? Or maybe you sent emails out? Perhaps you tried to be creative with your pregnancy announcement?

Whatever you did to tell your friends & family about your pregnancy, Clearblue would love to hear about it.

If you did take a creative approach to announcing your pregnancy and you have any photos, please post them on this thread.

Everyone who posts will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky MNer will win a £250 Love2Shop voucher.

Please note your comments and photos may be included on Clearblue's website and social media channels, and possibly elsewhere, so please only post if you're comfortable with this.

Thanks and good luck,
MNHQ

I casually included it in a brief talk I delivered at church. :-)

We were overseas. I emailed out the first scan to my family with "newest family member" as the subject line.

I did the test while DH was out at rugby and had the shock of my life when it was positive! When he came home I told him to shut his eyes and hold out his hands and put the test in his hands...he cried!

When I found myself getting weepy at a work conference in London, I started wondering. I picked up a Clearblue digital test on the way back to my hotel, laughing at myself for being so silly - we'd only just started trying. Surely there was no way I could be pregnant already?

There was no mistaking the result the next morning. "Pregnant 1-2 weeks". I was so shocked that I didn't know what to do so I just got dressed and went back to my conference as if nothing had happened. It wasn't until lunchtime that it suddenly hit me - I was really, actually, honestly pregnant! I picked up my bag and walked straight out of the conference that minute.

When I got home, I told my DP that I'd brought him two presents back from the capital. He told me off a bit - he's always saying I shouldn't bring him presents back and I always do - but he sat down to open them. He tore open the first one to find a tiny white babygro saying "I love my daddy". He stared at it for a minute then he looked at me, started laughing and said, "Does this mean what I think it means?!"

I held out the second present - the test itself - and said, "I dare you to open this and find out..."

we found out about a week before my dads birthday, so we told him we had a present for him but that he'd have to wait another few months for it!
my mum and ILs we just went round and blurted it out Grin
