We're working with B&Q, who so far have helped lots of MNers revamp their unloved rooms and gardens. You can check out the video of their room and garden revamps here. Now, B&Q would like to hear about the unloved parts of your home.

So, what parts of your home could use some more love? Maybe your bedroom wallpaper has started peeling? Or your bathroom tiles have started getting mouldy? Could your kitchen do with some new cupboards?

Please share details, and preferably a photo of the unloved parts of your home here, and tell us where they are and what you'd like to do to make them more loved.

Everyone who shares their story and/or photos on this thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 B&Q gift card.

Please note that any stories or photos you share on this thread may appear on B&Q's pages on Mumsnet and potentially elsewhere.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!
MNHQ

PS – For more chances to win, why not upload a photo of your unloved room and tell us what you want to with it at //diy.com/myunlovedroom. Each month 10 winners will receive vouchers to redo their room.

Yes an unloved and overgrown back garden here!! Unfortunately I do not have green fingers or the time to dedicate with 3 young children! My husband seems to prefer spending spare time at the allotment whilst our garden goes to rack & ruin :-(

I have a conservatory done by the previous owners which is shaded by the rest of the house so that the only time it ever gets sun is midday in the summer, so freezing apart from the middle of summer when it's roasting. It's where we dump stuff that doesn't have anywhere else to go. It needs the roof fixing and better insulation and all the junk clearing out

My sons room is badly needing a total gutting. My husband lovingly built him a cabin bed when he was 4, he's now 11 and to say its too small for him is an understatement. He only has one tiny window and the new velux is currently in our hallway waiting to be fitted. He goes to high school next year and we really need to bring it up to an acceptable standard for him to bring friends back.

Our toilet has the most anaemic flush. Sometimes, it won't even fully wet a single sheet of toilet paper, let alone flush the contents of the bowl away.

unloved entrance porch! After it was extended a couple of year ago we never got around to doing the finishing touches so still got the old light fitting, the tiles on the floor come to an end and no flooring is in the new bit, and needs a good tidy up storage wise as the shoes still get dumped everywhere. will post photo another day if i get the chance.

Very unloved hallway and utility room. We have been in our house for nearly 24 years and only yesterday, yesterday! did we manage to lift the really badly done 'parquet' style flooring in the hall which was a horrible dirt trap. However lots more to do, need to fit skirting, repaint everything, fit a hand rail, fix cupboard doors and paint those.

We have put down tiles from hallway through to utility room but rest of that room needs done too, we need to add a tall cupboard to store laundry stuff and work top and cover our hot tank, tile round sink and paint everything! We need help....

I would like to sort out our storage in my son's room and our bedroom so he doesn't have to share his room with half our computing kit, my stationery and fishing gear while our bedroom is also full of other clutter: fitted cupboards would be great!

Our bedroom is the last room in the house that needs updating. We still have the wardrobes from when we moved in - not my style at all and very dated. Plain light fitting and bedding and boring wall paper.

If I had £150 I would jazz up the room with new wallpaper, bedding and a fancy crystal swirly whirly light fitting - I have my eye on one! The wardrobes are on our 'saving up for' list but a coat of wood paint to make the dark wood cream and paint over the three mirrors on the doors would be a start!

This is our bathroom. I have posted about it before. We are now nearly a year into our 'bathroom project'. One day I hope to have a bath again. That is the bath, under the circular saw. Things are not looking terribly hopeful!

I could choose several areas that are unloved in my house. The kitchen has 1980's cheapo wall tiles that I want to paint and the sink and worktops could do to be replaced as the 'white' sink will not whiten up anymore and the worktops do not fit properly. Doing those few jobs would be fabulous and would mean I could live with the med/dark oak cupboards as they are.
My loft space is another possibility as it is virtually unlagged. I would like to Celotex between the rafters and replace a problematic valve in the water tank up there.
My 'garden' is very overgrown and is in need of energy money and love to make it a usable area as it has been systematically vandalised over the years. I'm hopeful that that has now stopped and would love to be able to use it! My children (15 and 6) have never been able to play out there and I've lived here over 19 years.

Our living room keeps being neglected in terms of being updated and recdecorated - it is because it needs to be in use all the time there is never a good time to battle it.

Living room! The house is...beyond words right now, everywhere needs doing apart from the kids rooms but money is going on 'essentials' right now (new boiler etc) rather anything as 'frivolous' and as lovely as decorating!

We have a very unloved downstairs toilet. We did up the whole house and ran out of money (time and patience too) and so we have a room with plumbing but no actual toilet in it. It has become used as a junk room! The thing is there is never enough money to finish it off!

I hate this room in our house. It is classed as a small bedroom but is really more suitable for an office type space. I currently use it as a "getting ready" dressing room type area with my cosmetics, hair dryer, etc all stored here. Two cheap ikea shelves with DVDs and books on are located in here as well as loads of other junk that we have no where else to keep.

I would love to have some creative storage in this room with a proper dressing table that I can put all my cosmetics and bits and pieces away in drawers so that it could also be used as a desk. Also, better lighting would be great for when I am applying my make up. It needs some TLC for sure!

my unloved room is not a room - its the hall and staircase. I used to have lovely textured paper all the way up....now everything below the handrail has been picked/ripped/pulled off and so many cars have been driven down the rails that there is very little texture left on the top either! It needs to be stripped and replaced - preferably with something super durable! The hallway carpet needs ripping out after daft dog decided, during her season, that the hallway was the place to poo and wee. (she went a bit doo-lally). so carpet is stained and yuk. Sigh. Just never seems to be the right time to decorate the hall!

Our unloved room is our bedroom. We started off okay as we did the fitted wardrobes and re-carpeted when we moved in 6 years ago (had to replace the dirty 'white' shagpile the old owner left us!)

I really want to get some wallpaper to bring some life into the room, or maybe paint it. It is very much boring beige at the mo. We haven't even bought new bedding, the blue set is DH's from uni (errr... 18 years ago).

As you can see from the mess, we simply don't have enough storage either. I'd like to make more of the alcove space. There's also nothing personal in the room, no pictures or anything. Inspired by another B&Q renovator, I'm going to get some wallpaper samples and frame them for over the bed.

Even the lampshade is from our old rented house (with gorgeous high ceilings) so is stupidly large for our room now.

£150 giftcard would see our bedroom changed from a random room with a bed in it, to a fully decorated, tidy and relaxing space.

weve had the house rewired and havent re decorated over so there are gaps in every room!!also our landing is so high around the staircase so getting someone in to do this is far to expensive and far to dangerous for us to do alone.

i have large windows at the front with horrible tatty curtains and at the back covering my patio door i have old fashioned curtains hanging on a snapped pole selotaped together.
the walls are long and plain with pen, grease marks everywhere after my daughter went through a bad phase a few years ago

Ds2 has inherited what was the old family room. It had patio doors which we have removed and blocked off but it really needs a bit of TLC. He is very envious of his brothers having proper bedrooms.

The most unloved part of my home is the baby room. I am currently expecting a baby girl at Christmas and we just don't have the time or money available to kit it out nicely or paint it like a nursery. We do ave a cot in the corner but my husband's desk fills the rest of the room!

I would love to decorate our livingroom as it's the same green wallpaper that was here when we moved in but really, it's not too bad. The most unloved room, sadly, is our DSs room. We quickly painted over the mis-matched wallpaper when we swapped rooms round nearly 3 years ago when DD1 arrived... After reading the last B&Q unloved room thread showing the revamps which people had achieved, I became determined to do their room properly - I started stripping the paper but could only manage an hour or so at a time while DD2 was napping. The plaster started coming off too so I really lost motivation and have not touched it for weeks. So, the poor boys are now left with a room, still with mis-matched painted wallpaper but also with a couple of half stripped walls and a big hole in the plaster (which they keep poking and making worse!)

I reckon it could just take a couple of days to get done but it's so difficult to find that time; between work and looking after the kids. I really need to set a deadline and do it - I do feel guilty every time I go in there. They have a nice carpet so at least they have something nice :)

A lot of our house could do with love with all the gloss work but the worst room is the box room with all the paper peeling; mould; badly discoloured woodwork and nothing in it than an old divan and one seld. Sadly ignored room due to cost and time. Would love to solve thw mould problem redecorate with paint and one feature paper wall and accessorise it to make it less anaemic and unloved and more welcoming and warm

We had a conservatory built in 2008. It still isn't finished. It has no light in, the windowsills need sealing and painting, we need skirting board for it, we need beading for the main wall above the door... We relied too much on a family member to help us (who never did) and then had kids so its taken a back seat on our 'to do' list. We'd love to get it into some sort of decent shape so we can use it as a room but its just a dumping ground. And now we have two kids we need the space to relax in.

As Flora begins to move we're realising more and more baby proofing needs to be done.

Our fireplaces need sorting, we've never got around to them

They're uneven and have holes in the back, they're really in desperate need of cementing.

Probably needing digging out and cementing.

If we won this prize I would use the money to buy some tiles to make it look special and suit our Victorian house

Without it, well I guess we will just have to make it safe.

I've not got great DIY skills and therefore struggle to get motivated but this could be the incentive for me to push myself beyond my boundaries
