I just found out thanks to dd1 something dd2 wrote then removed from her social networks. In images attached.
She's autistic, 20+, very clever but you wouldn't know if you met her.
The "person" she talks about is her mum, I'm her dad, who took far too long to see what was going on. That mum and I separated 3 years ago, far too late, and I'm DDs' carer.
Besides virtual hugs and words of wisdom, i have specific questions.

  • what can be done to encourage my dd into therapy?
  • or should I accept this will take a long time, and she'll be my age by the time she dares express openly what hurts, rather than at 3am on tumbler and delete in the morning?
I saw wish she knew she can be seen and be ok.

I’m not sure it is wise to post DD’s posts here. I would ask MNHQ to remove the screenshots. If DD is not open to traditional therapy now, would she be open to something that relies less on verbal communication? Is she receiving any support for her ASD? Can you suggest she keep a diary/journal rather than write it publicly.
