DD struggling socially

My DD is 17 about to finish A Levels and is relay struggling with friends. This has been an ongoing problem but isn’t getting any better.

she says she tries to talk to people and they just walk away from her/ ignore her etc.

a few people have told her she’s socially awkward and this has further dented her confidence so she’s awkward and it’s a vicious circle.

I feel so sad for her, I listen and try to help her, give her advise and support her but nothing seems to work.

when she was younger I was able to be with her more and help her join in but now she is older I can’t.

i am so sad, she’s sometimes a bit blunt but overall she’s funny, kind and bright. It just seems no one wants to be her friend.

I wosh she didn’t care and was happier in her own company but she isn’t…..

Would DD join any hobby groups?

Would she attend a support group or youth group for autistic/wider SN teens/young people?

Has she had any SALT and OT assessments and input? What about mentoring?

What are DD’s plan for after A levels?

I take it that she is ND @funkystars123? Is she a member of the local ASD group if there is one? Ours has regular social events.

Our local Explorers group is also quite good for teens with ASD.
