Post 16 provision with ehcp ME CFS and autism

So ehcp was In Review and I was urged to name a placement for post 16. I named the local 6th form and 2 colleges. I was given no info on other possible placements.

Now im worried ive messed up as the colleges are probably not the best place to go. Will need a bus, currently can't travel independently.
I've found an alternative provision, now what order do I do things?

Do i wait and see if any gcses are achieved? If yes hope we can get 6th form

If none then try for alternative provision? But if no longer at school how do I get it paid for? (SENDIAS said to get school to do a costing??)

Have i messed up?
Ultimately ive no idea where is best, ME means very little energy, autism makes many spaces too much to deal with,

Any advice how to navigate and find the provisions know. As eotas

LAs rarely inform parents of all the options. In the future, you shouldn’t rely on the LA giving you all the information.

The LA must finalise the phase transfer EHCP by the 31st March. Once they do, if you disagree, you will have the right of appeal. You don’t have to wait for results.

For EOTAS/EOTIS/C, you would need to prove it is inappropriate for provision to be made in a school or college. Not securing GCSEs wouldn’t automatically mean the bar for EOTAS/EOTIS is met. Conversely, securing GCSEs doesn’t automatically mean it isn’t met.

With EOTAS/EOTIS, there isn’t a school involved. That doesn’t stop it being funded (via direct payments or otherwise).

Not all EOTAS/EOTIS packages include AP settings, but the best way to find APs is by asking around families who have EOTAS/EOTIS locally. Some LAs include APs in their local offer and some LAs have AP catalogues or similar online, but these don’t usually include everything available.

Have you looked at your LA’s post 16 transport policy and have you checked it is lawful?
