Just that, where do u start?? Anyone prepared that?

I have looked online but there is no NHS template and SS haven't even mentioned it but I realize it will be needed for respite.

What threw me is that some examples show you have to describe every minute step you do - so it's not enough to say he needs help with food but literally what and how to prepare, serve, cut it up etc.

Then, for personal care, do I have to write every minute step involved in wiping bum, washing hands, showering, brushing teeth? Or even getting to/from table, bathroom etc?

For every hour of the day/day of the week? Are there rules for say, showering every x days or do I have to stipulate what and when they have to do? What if he has a diarrhea, would he not get cleaned?

I might be doing it for days if not weeks. And if something changes when I am not there, will they just not do it? What's about any possible eventualities on different types of food?

I feel totally overwhelmed and don't even know who to formally approach, GP? SS? Respite places? Consultants for each body organs?

Anyone out there who has been through this?

You are overthinking this. How detailed it needs to be depends on whose it is. For some people, the detail e.g. of the order to dress is important. For others, it isn’t. If DS doesn’t need things cut up in a certain way, then it doesn’t need that detail. Speak to social care.

@flawlessflipper thank you, will do.
I am annoyed they never even mentioned it even tho DS condition is quite complex.
