SEN school interview

Hi teachers, TAs, parents of SEN children in school,

I’ve got an interview next Monday at a secondary-phase SEN school.

Unfortunately, I have a long-standing arrangement to go away this weekend, so I’m anxious about preparing for the interview process.

If anyone could give me any tips or advice about the kinds of questions I may be asked, or about life generally in an SEN school, I’d be enormously grateful.

An interview for what role?

What life is like at SS varies significantly. Is it a generic special school catering for a range of needs or a specialist school for one particular type/presentation of SEN. For example, if the role is for a TA in a generic SS, a large part of the role may be personal care, but in some other SS there will be very little personal care.

Reading the SENCOP and IPSEA and SOSSEN’s websites will help give you an understanding of the SEN system in England (if that is where you are?).
