Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on SN.

Should I try and stop this behaviour?

My ASD/ADHD dd is 15 and will only wear cosplay- all day every day, dresses like characters from encanto and moana - her special interests. She also takes her dolls everywhere with her. Over the summer everyone has been staring when we have gone anywhere. I don't mind as long as she is happy and she doesn't notice the looks. But obviously a mid teen dressed as Mirabelle when shopping in Asda is not something you see every day! Should I let her carry on (she's been doing it years now) with something that makes her feel good and happy or explain its not really socially appropriate at her age which i can imagine will upset her hugely. To clarify - I don't mind either way whether she does or doesn't but I am getting increasingly worried about her being bullied or made fun of.

Have you spoken to her about your bullying worry? You could buy her some t-shirts with her favourite characters on and see if she's happy to wear those instead of a full outfit. How does she get in with wearing uniform for school?
It's very sad that we can't just accept everyone but obviously the world isn't like that.

Sorry @deadpan I didn't see i'd had a reply. Love the t-shirt idea..going to suggest this to her. Thank you. She goes to a special SEN school and they don't have to wear uniform so she gets to wear her cosplay there. All her peers in school have their own ways and are very accepting of each other, but obviously she won't be in school forever and that day is looming much closer now!
