Brain in Hand app - any experience?

My DS (ASD, dyspraxia) was offered this as part of his DSA when he went to uni but didn't use it, there was so much else to think about in the lead up to going and early weeks that it fell off the to do list and he managed without it (good support from DSA mentors, student support and me). So we sort of forgot about it. However he has graduated now and is home again jobhunting and still somewhat reliant on me for organising him and helping him, my DD is going to uni, my elderly parents need a lot of care and I need to progress him to greater independence (he has come along hugely since going to uni but still needs quite a lot of support). He could fund it from his PIP but it is expensive, I wondered if anyone had experience of it? I'm hoping DD (ADHD) will get it as part of her DSA and use it but would be good to hear from others.

My DH has had involvement with this as he worked for a National autism charity. It seems really good and helpful.

Look for positive reviews by Rosie King who has reviewed Brain in Hand on TV.

Especially for DD if you can get funding for an en suite bathroom that can be a great help. Our youngest DD had the extra cost for an en suite paid as part of her DSA.

Thank you, I will look for that, if I had known how much it cost I would have supported him to try it out while he was at home in one of his uni holidays, quite cross with myself.

I have discussed ensuite bathrooms with DD but she doesn't think she needs one, her issues are more around organisation, getting started on tasks, concentration, distraction, processing speed etc (she is also dyslexic). She has just had her DSA assessment but not had the report yet, so I'm not sure what they will offer her.

DD2 has Brain in Hand but she had it funded.

Access to Work is harder to secure than it once was, but if DS secures employment, it can be funded via Access to Work.

Yes, thank you, he has only got a temp job at the moment which is seasonal and only a month or so left. To be fair he is quite good at remembering to do things, just not as good at actually doing them, misreads details, gets anxious about filling forms in wrong etc. DD is the other way round, forgets stuff left right and centre but is fairly capable once she actually gets started.
