Adult DD and nerves about pt job

DD managed to get a pt job in a bar for 5 hours a week and was due to start last Thursday. OH was going to drop her off so no pressure there, but said she was too nervous and anxious and wouldn’t be going. I’m so disappointed as it was an opportunity for her to earn some money. Whilst I understand her fears, how do I help her?, She refused to talk about it and stayed in her room. She’s 23 with ADHD and most possibly ASD.

Is DD on ADHD medication? Is she on anything for her anxiety? Is she receiving any therapeutic support? Is she in education of any sort?

DD is on medication for her anxiety and has previously been on ADHD medication but it didn’t work for her. She’s just got her degree, wants to try for a Masters so was looking for pt work to help with costs. Everything went well at the interview and she was offered a job. She can come across well when she talks, and as the job is only for a few hours a week, it would be a good starting point for her.

Would DD be willing to ask to review her medication for anxiety and also look at therapy?

Did DD try a range of ADHD medication previously?

Could DD look at other types of jobs? Bar work can be overwhelming for some.

DD had applied for all sorts of pt work, some were unsuitable and I did have concerns when she told me she’d applied and got the bar job. Sometimes to have a conversation with her can be such hard work, she just wants you out of her room. She’s tried all different types of ADHD medication in the past, no luck with it.
I’m going to suggest a review for her anxiety medication to see what she thinks. I don’t know where else to go with it, especially once they’re adults.
