Looking for recommendation for female focused ADHD&autism assessment

Hello,

I wonder if anyone could recommend a healthcare provider who does joint ADHD and autism assessments for teens? My DD is 13 and we need need to get her an assessment and are willing to pay privately. I'd really like to go with someone who is known for working with girls. We're based in the south-east and would prefer and in-person appointment. I might have to concede to traveling if I can't find anywhere local.

Three that I've looked at:
Pscion in Canterbury, their website says all the right things but they have a number of bad reviews online.
Sanctum: they look good but quite far from me and don't know anyone who have been to them personally. Communication has been good.
The Autism Clinic: in Devon, so far, and not great communication.

Would love to hear a personal experience and recommendation!

Have a look at the Lorna wing centre in Chigwell Essex they are specialists in assessments for women and girls. It’s not cheap but very thorough and detailed.

Thank you! I had heard of them previously (on here) but I'm put off by their lack of website - looks like it's been merged or taken over by the national autistic society. Maybe it's always been part of them. I need lots of clear and easy info about the process and costs on the website. If they don't understand that most parents of ND children will probably struggle with this administrative minefield, I don't have a lot of faith that they'll do a brilliant job end-to-end.

@olivelime have you looked into this further? I have just posted about exactly the same thing.

i think girls with both ASD and ADHD often present in a very different way, which can make diagnosis more complex.

No, I haven't had any further luck to be honest. The top one for me feels like Sanctum at the moment but I emailed some specific questions about booking dates nearly 2 weeks ago and they didn't answer my questions but sent me a link to something generic, which was useless.

Have you had any useful recommendations?

We used Mind Professionals for my 15 year old DD and my 13 year old son. A very good experience for us. The child’s appointment is face to face. We were advised to have face to face by CAMHS to ensure it got accepted by the LA and we have had it accepted by everyone of importance.
They are based in Cambridge but we went to Bristol for our face to face appointments. They have offices all over the country. It was just for ASD in our case but they do ADHD too.

Brilliant, thank you - I'll look into them. Would definitely prefer face to face.

I hear amazing things about Enhancing Futures in Rugby (not close to us but I know of at least 3 local families who have travelled there).

I have used Axia Chester. Excellent with girls and women, and have links eith Dr Luke Beardon who I think is excellent (have you read any of his books? He is the senior lecturer on the Autsim MSC at Sheffield Hallam uni) . In person assessment, but a long way from you!

this might be a bit late for you but I have just had mine assessed at London neurodiversity clinic. It wasn’t cheap but they were bloody amazing
