We were planning abroad, but it's apparent they won't cope .
Always did haven when they were little for a cheap get away
DH thinks we can't do a caravan site now they are adults and older teen .
I'm stumped for ideas
Cottages are so expensive,as we are still tied to school holiday dates
Does anyone still use caravan or holiday parks with older SEN kids

If holiday parks and caravans work for you, I don’t see why you can’t continue to holiday there.

Ten year gap
Took the older kids when younger
Haven't ever taken a teen or young adult
And not been for 10 years

Would a quieter caravan park work? What sort of area were you looking for?

Somewhere quiet by the sea ,or nearish the sea.
Was hoping someone could recommend somewhere

The Cumbrian Coast, Solway Firth is lovely. Fairly quiet even in school holidays. Lovely flat walks.
Some cottages aren’t too expensive to rent.
Look in the Allonby, Silloth area.
North Wales can also be affordable.

Yep, we go to holiday parks and enjoy it but it depends what your DC are like, mine likes evening entertainment which in fact isn't that wild.

Whereabouts are u?

What is your budget (not that I need to know)? Previous summer i booked a 3 bed cottage in Ilfracombe, Devon. It was £1100 but will be more expensive now I think. It s close to all shops and restaurants.

Look on air b&b. There’s some lovely places on there that people rent out

Why does DH think that you can’t do a caravan park? If the DC know what to expect and will be ok there then it sounds fine?
