Every time I treat DD 11 within weeks she's infested AGAIN. Its getting beyond a joke now I've spent nearly £40 on treatments. I've had her hair cut shorter. I've messaged the school who messaged all the parents. I can't afford to keep paying out - never mind the distress it causes her ( apparently kids at school are calling he the nit girl - the teachers have spoken to them ) BUT this cannot go on. Suggestions please

How do other pupils know it is your DD with headlice?

Is DD having her hair tied up when at school? Plaits can help reduce the risk.

I'm guessing because of the itching her hair.

We had her hair cut shorter.

I posted on SN as she is on Asd pathway and has ADHD - this means she is really sensory - I'm not sure what other parents experiences are but hair brushing , sitting still etc are triggers for her.

I would speak to the school about how other DC know. It may not be the itching - after all there are other reasons for an itchy head. Someone may have said something so I would check.

Not all DC with SN have sensory difficulties with hair brushing etc. impossible to have known that from your OP.
