Sanctions if your autistic teen is repeatedly late for class

DS has been late for class a number of times because they have got distracted so the school has given him warning that after 3 more strikes he will be sent to the head.

Just wondering what you would think of this.

What support is the school providing? Have you spoken to the SENCO? The focus should be on supporting DS rather than punishment.

How late is he? Can you look to help him with maybe a watch with alarms?

I'm in Scotland and we have a Planning meeting - I don't know what it's called in England - and that's where I laid out all the things my daughter would be likely to find tricky. She has a 5 minute pass that means she can be 5 minutes later or leave 5 minutes early from class if she needs to (she finds the noisy hallways tricky) so is there a reasonable accommodation that could help if you worked with the school?
