Eotas and flexi school combination?

Hi, I'm appealing my son's ehcp and hoping to get an eotas package for him. However, my OT suggested that he might do better with a flexi school setup combined with eotas.
I am also hoping to get an educational Psychologist involved.
So he can go in on certain lessons and activities and also get tutoring lessons and other therapies at home the rest of the time.
Is this something you are familiar with or heard of before. I completely agree with the OT that my son does like school and likes the social setting. But during term time is when his behaviour, anxiety, insomnia and irritable bowels are at the worst.
Is eotas/flexi school something that the LA might agree to, or even something that is possible to ask for?

Usually when people speak of flexi-schooling they talk of part-time school and part-time arrangements made by the parents at the discretion of the school’s headteacher. I presume you don’t want to electively home educate, including meeting the financial costs, otherwise you wouldn’t be appealing. So, I wouldn’t stay away from the term flexi-schooling.

It is possible to have a bespoke package with a school named in section I and some of the package delivered in a school and some otherwise than at school if it would be inappropriate for DC to receive it in a school. If the EHCP is written correctly, this wouldn’t be at the discretion of the school’s headteacher. But if attending school some of the time you can’t have section I blank like you would with a full EOTAS/EOTIS package. The school must be named in I. And you would still probably have to appeal.

In order to meet the threshold for EOTAS/EOTIS, you need to show it is inappropriate for the provision to be made in a school.
