My son is going to be 18 in December. He goes to a special needs secondary school. But he's leaving when they break up at Xmas , school says he's outgrown school. He's been stripping all his clothes off (😱) and other challenges with his behavior. He's going to adult day care dec/ jan. At the moment he gets PIP. He's on my UC claim and gets the child disabled element. Not sure what else he's entitled to. He also non verbal so not sure if I will have to take him with me i I could claim on his behalf.

If you are appointee you will be able to make a UC claim for DS in his own name. You will need to get a fit note from the GP and submit that and go down the work capability assessment route. The WCA may involve an F2F assessment DS will need to attend. There may also be an appointment to check identity.
