Anyone know if it's possible? Accommodation for elderly parent/s and a disabled ds

Having sleepless nights over planning for the future because ds is deteriorating and I can't bear the thought of just handing him over to social services and getting to the point that we won't be able to adequately care for him ourselves.

We could move into an over-55s type of setting but I expect ds would not be accepted. Does a "family" set up exists anywhere in the country so we can live close by and not at a distance?

I can understand you being worried. How far do you mean by close by? We have homes for Teens with SN in our town and retirement complexes within about half a mile.

Well, I was hoping eventually to be in the same place really... hoping I can find a "community" type place that doesn't restrict by age and would go to the end of life eventually.

I would self fund but ds has no money of his own so it would need to be funded by SS. On the condition that we would be able to stay till the end, I would be happy to donate anything left to the place.
