Hi, my son is now 23. Diagnosed autistic aged 9 after being assessed since age 4. ADHD diagnosis aged 22 !
Gets terribly depressed/suicidal.
Lives with me. Works 16 hours a week in a supermarket, on final warning for attendance. Great worker when he is there.Has been sacked from one job prior.
we have seen MH services when he has actually been at risk of suicide, but once deemed safe, they discharge him.
A psychotherapist who specialises in autism has suggested a few life changes, which he is willing to try.
One being a grain free diet -has anyone done this? Any advice please?
Has anyone found a support group for parents of adult autistic children?
I feel so at a loss with him, it was so much easier in a way when he was a child.
ANY support, advice, ideas welcome...
Thankyou

So sorry that you're struggling like this.

To answer your questions, no we haven't tried a grain free diet although DD, who has ASD & ADHD, is much better if she leaves dairy alone.

And I'm sorry, I don't know of a support group but hopefully someone will be along soon Flowers
