So my Ds (17) has Asd/adhd ..

College was really unsupportive - he masks so they didn’t see the issues - Senco refused to speak to me . So then were surprised it all fell apart ..

Anyway he got an apprenticeship - he was sacked after a month - he was on his phone all the time / tired all the time and not fit for f/t work .

Any ideas of a way forward . We get pip for him . I am on Uc have been told if he isn’t in education he needs to be registered as none dependant ?

Does DS have an EHCP?

DS is already a non-dependent. You don’t/won’t have a non-dependent deduction because DS is a) under 21 and b) I presume is in receipt of the daily living component of PIP at either rate. This applies regardless of what DS does.

If DS isn’t able to work full time, he, or you if appointee, should get a fit note and apply for UC.

no he doesn’t have an echp

I am his appointee.

tes we get pip for care and mobility .

i am leaving him be for now to see what he wants to do next .

this is so hard because he doesn’t have the ability to manage everything but no one invites me because he is 17

As well as applying for UC on DS’s behalf, you should request an EHCNA. On their website, IPSEA has a model letter you can use.
