Hair desperate for a cut..

Adult DD has ASD/ADHD and goes for a yearly hair cut. Although this year it’s been difficult getting her there. Her hair really needs washing and brushing before the cut and that’s hard enough.
Any advice welcome?

Would having a home hairdresser help? I have two with asd (granted they were child/teens when we started). I had the hairdresser cut mine and dc2 hair and just allow dc1 and 3 to come in and out and slowly encouraged them to get used to the hairdresser in the house. Then sitting on their own chair, I bought my own cape so it didn't smell different. Obviously you need a very patient hairdresser. We've had the same one for 6 years and last week dc3 (teenager) actually spoke to the hairdresser when the hairdresser suggested a change in how she cut it and dc3 agreed. The hairdresser left beaming she couldn't believe the breakthrough.

Have you considered cutting it yourself? If it simply needs a trim then you can get hair cutting clips/clamps from Amazon. They are pretty easy to use - I just clamp them on and then use a set of clippers to quickly cut the hair. It’s all over within a couple of minutes.
