Rigid thinking in neurodiverse teenage son

My 16 year son has been having panic attacks for at least 3 years, it affected his school attendance, his social life and his confidence. He suffers from a high base level of anxiety, and is fearful of many situations particularly busy places, medical situations and travel. He had a relationship with someone for about a year, she managed to get him out and about and he became more confident. She finished the relationship suddenly about 9 months ago and since then he is convinced that only she can save him from hurting himself and being happy She has moved on and has a new partner but he is waiting for them to break up. Talking therapy is not working, he doesn't communicate verbally very well and doesn't like one to one appointments. He has been assessed for ADHD, we are waiting for the feedback appointment, and now he is going through the Autistic Diagnosis process. He has had a lot of support both in and out of school but he just cannot move forward. He blames me for not "fixing it" and gets angry with me. I am at a loss as to how to help him move forward. Any ideas would be appreciated.

What about therapy that relies less on verbal communication?

You could also consider Mindjam or similar if DS enjoys gaming.

Does DS have an EHCP? Is he 16 in Y11 or Y12?

Thank you I will take a look as he does enjoy gaming.
He is year 11 and moving to college in September.

Where we live we don't have formal EHCP (we live in the Channel Islands) but he is on the enhanced transition plan to move to college and does have various health professionals looking after him.
