Baby Alarm recommendation

Hi,

My son (adult) has complex health needs and we use a baby alarm during the night. We need to hear his breathing through the baby alarm.

I need to replace the baby monitor we use to monitor his breathing. It is ancient but has stopped working after being dropped. It was just a simple one with just audio and no screen. It picked up the breathing sounds no problem and never went silent.

I've just bought a VTech BM1000 Digital Audio Baby Monitor. However the microphone doesn't pick up any breathing sounds at all.

It goes 'silent' as if its cut out. Reading about baby alarms it seems this is normal and the parent handset activates upon a detectable sound.

We have positioned it correctly and tried it in various locations in the bedroom. But it is not capable of picking up the breathing sounds.

Can anyone recommend a baby monitor with a very sensitive microphone that picks up breathing sounds.

We would prefer an audio monitor without the video capabilities but would be prepared to use a baby monitor with a screen if needed.

Thanks

We use a Motorola baby monitor. I can’t find the one we have on google so I’m assuming it is no longer made, but it is worth looking at their other ones.
